Does anyone use the Strike King KVD 3/8 jig?

I'm thinking about trying the Blue Shad and Bluegill colors.

If I get some of these NetBait® Paca Chunk Softbaits as a trailer, what color should I use? or should I get something else for a trailer?

Check out NorthStar Custom Baits swim jigs; they have some really great bluegill color and are hand tied for great quality...Did I mention they are under $3.50?

As far as trailers go, I almost always have a baby paca craw on. It's the perfect size for a bluegill presentation.

So NorthStar is better than Strike King?

Which one should I get? Their website is weird and BassPro.com doesn't have them.

I tried one last weekend in bluegill color with pretty good luck. It helped me finish second in my club tournament. I trailed it with a Kalin 5" grub in watermelon red. I usually use jigs from Siebert Outdoors but wanted to try swimming a jig, a new technique for me. I just bought one of these from BPS to try as I didn't have time to get one online. I will be getting some more from Siebert Outdoors.

Northstar make a higher quality jig IMO. Great colors and huge selection. I would go with the colors New Gill, Bull Gill, Perch and even Kentucky Blue Grass. These colors will cover all of your bluegill/sunfish needs.

The two best trailers for a swim jig, in my opinion, are the Rage Tail Baby Craw, and the new Rage Grub (with the cut-tail). I may be approaching a thousand fish on that combo. In fact, it's what I just caught my PB on (Baby Craw).

Not my pb, but the same day, same bait

I use the Strike King swimjigs but I believe mine are hack attack swim jigs. I would recommend that you grab some 3-4" big hammer swimbait tails and use them as trailers.
Everyday I'm pitchin' jigs.

I use the back end of used Swim Sencos. I have about a 5 pound bag of them from over the years. I prefer Black, Watermelon and Green Pumpkin, or variations of each, with that Strike King Bluegill color.

The KVD swim jigs are awesome, but you can only get them at BPS, Northstar Baits Swim Jigs are AWESOME and the 5/16oz has become my favorite. But you cannot go wrong with the KVD swim jigs. Still use them as well.

As for swim jig trailers and 4 or 5 inch single tale grub will work well as well as twin tail grubs. I prefer Berkley and Kinami for single tail and chompers for double tail.

Gander and Diicks both sell the KVD swim jigs (edit: nevermind I think the ones I have are tour grade, look the same in the pics tho). I have been using them the past month and they work good. Gonna check out northstar tho when I get some money. The strike king jigs don't come in many colors.

My best swimjig trailer by far is the Kalin's 5" Grub.
Brown fish are better than green fish.

These are some of my best colors in the Northstar jigs! But I need to add one more= Magic craw and a Netbait Paca Chunk or Baby Paca in magic craw color! KILLER!

I am not a big swim jig guy, but when I do use one, it's usually that SK in that bluegill color. My best trailer has been a green pumpkin baby paca craw, followed be the same color Zoom fat albert grub.
I am not afraid to suck.
