Deep crankbaits (moved slowly), jigs and and heavy spinnerbaits along the bottom and any lures you can rip off the bottom and let fall. The bites will occur on the fall.

This weekend (Saturday, 4/14/12) the bass were mostly post spawn. Some males were guarding the nests but the females have moved off to deeper water - 8 to 15 feet. Small males can be caught shallow but if you want some bigger fish you should concentrate on the deeper water.

You hit the Big Bass Bash weekend. Probably close to 1500 boats fishing for hourly prizes both Sat. and Sunday. It ends at 3, so you'll have some peace and quiet later in the day.
X2 on the previous post about spawning activity. Because the water is mainly stained to dirty, those bass under docks and near points can be had in pretty shallow water. Concewntrate on depths less than 10 feet, and the carolina rig will play big. Try dragging a dark colored brush hog or lizard around the cove points or even main lake points for sixe, and for numbers throw a fluke or topwater near the banks for numbers. What part of the lake are you fishing?

Heading down tomorrow. Going to start around Linn Creek. Anybody know what the water looks like in that area? Fish still in the creeks or are they moving back out?
Post and let us know- will be heading down this weekend.

Fished in the 28 to 30MM range on Saturday. Water was about 72 in the morning. Stained. Fished from the mouth to the bridge of the Niangua on Sunday. Little cleaner water and about 76.
Mainly fished secondary points - thought we'd run into some eventually. Fished a few main lake points too. Went and fished the back of a cove and pocket a couple of times.
Flipped some soft plastics, drug a carolina rig, shakey head, and a football jig, tried an Alabama rig. Caught a few early on a popper.
