Has anyone used the new lake fork frog trailer hooks yet? I just ordered a few packs of them on tackle warehouse and to me they look like they will do great.

Do they sit nicely on the frog hooks or do they slouch down? My biggest question is will the frog remain weedless or pretty much weedless with it on?

Well it just hangs to a point but will pivot up an inch or so rather easily.

Pass....I have no problems hooking up with frogs as is, and besides those would be a disaster in alot of the places I fish frogs.
I am not afraid to suck.

I've had a lot of days lately where the fish are not being as agressive toward frogs as I'd like them to be and they end up either missing the frog and not coming back or just hitting the tail end of the frog. I believe these hooks will increase the number of hook ups in general. And if this doesn't work I am going to try cutting the legs back a little. The spro legs are long, but I think that gives the frog a lot of action. I would rather add something that can be taken off than cut something that can't be put on. Do you guys trim the skirt legs on frogs?

yes, all my spro frogs have been trimmed, and that hook looks way to thin and where i fish a frog with that hook would catch way to many pads/ weeds. There are days where they are not really taking a frog, they might slap at it, or just not really trying to take it, they are telling you to switch it up, try throwing a jig, or some type of plastic where they just were, often times they will hit the throw back lure. SO you are basically using the frog to locate the fish and your throwback to seal the deal!

I use these on all my buzzfrogs like the horny toad, ribbit, etc.

The plastic on the hook eye keeps it from sliding down and it is surprisingly weedless. The only issue I have at times is the hook will mess with the action if the legs get looped over it but that doesn't happen often, is fixed easily and is worth the extra fish hooked by the trailer. All those times I used to get a legless frog back after setting the hook are no more. I don't know how it'd work with a pre-rigged from like the Spro, etc. but it's worth a shot. I thought for sure I was going to have issues with it being weedless but was pleasantly surprised.
Apparently my link contained a naughty word. Look up Strike King Tour Grade Trailer Hook and you'll find what I'm talking about. Size is 2/0

I'm getting them on wednesday so I'll post a picture by this weekend. And I have a frog fishing montage coming soon shot with a gopro 2. I'll post that as sometime after this weekend and I will be using the trailer hooks for half of the video to see if there is an improvement in hook up ratios.
