I would say slow your retrieve down and try a few different things in the same spot. So if you normally have good luck with a spinner bait but not finding anything try a crank. I have had my best luck this year with a mid water crank cranked slow with a pause then crank crank. I also found that a buzz bait worked around docks works for me too. But slow.
Just my .02 so hope your lines get tight.

I found the fishing better when warming up fast in March than cooling off and very windy with bright skies in April. Finessing soft plastics(what a surprise) has been working all along, even Thursday when I caught 2 nice Pickerel, one very nice Crappie and a 2lb LMB in 2 hours of very heavy wind at Whitehall.

I haven't been doing too bad, fished the Quabbin last Fri 11 smallies biggest about 4.5 lbs all on jerkbaits and jigs, was there again on Thurs didn't get there until almost noon due to some prior commitments at home managed just 4 smallies biggest just under 4lbs all on jerks then the front blew in and, shut the fishing right down, tried to get out today but the wind down there was just brutal.

Guys stop worrying about the buckets and start fishing...I got 50 fish on Quinsigamond today. There is about 2 weeks until a smallmouth spawn. Go get'em.

Nope but you can't go over 40 mph.

I'll be honest with you. I've never done much research on Quinsig due to the fact I always thought there was either a 20hp or 25hp limit. You learn something new everyday.
I am still going to fish Flint pond because I always assumed it was treated as a different body of water with different rules.

Flint is a very shallow and limited area but with enough water, it is possible to access Quinsigamond. This will be the recommended approach for the next 2-3 weeks due to rowing meets on the north end of the lake. This is also the time to fish for trophy sized Crappie in Flint pond and arround the bridges in the big lake. 2 lbers are not unheard of during the spring spawning cycle.
