It's really not about catching fish at all.

While I was at Walmart this morning picking up some ammo I decided to rummage around in the $1.96 bin of YUM plastics. I found a couple packs of these little creature things, but I can't seem to find any information on them...

They're only ~4" long or so, but with the thin multi-fingered tail I think they might be productive on a shaky head.

Not really. They're all packaged in the same bags with little yellow stickers on them saying "creature", "worm", or "frog" with a bar-code. No actual model names.

This particular package just says "creature".

I have never seen those in my life...Did the package give you any indication of when they might have been produced?

I'm in this particular WM all the time, and this box of $1.96 plastics is pretty new. I'd say it's definitely been there less than a month.

It's impossible to see in my crappy cell phone pic above, but the little "nubbies" on the main body are all hollow, like little tubes or suction cups. Kinda neat.

I Googled the UPC# (719339078245) and came up with the Yum Dancin' Tadpole, but that's definitely not what this is.

If you have a smartphone, you can download a barcode scanner, and possibly get some leads. Other than that, I haven't seen much like this before.

On the fly or on a lure, bass are my thing. Unless trout are around...

Tried it with two different apps on the Ipad and came up empty.

I've searched all over for the past couple of weeks trying to find a list on all the YUM LPT lures after getting some from Wal-Mart.

I have seen those baits before! But they were sold at Dick's as a Shaw Grigsby brand exclusive quite a while back. Strange you found them made by Yum. I am out of them now or I would post a pic for comparison.

Little sidenote: I didn't care for the bait much at all. What I did do was take the tails off and put them on the back of trickworms then a shakey head. it was gnarly...while it lasted.

Roughly 5yrs ago I also found some interesting soft plastics by Yum in their "sale" box. Honestly can't remember what it was but I do remember that it quickly became my go-to soft plastic. Tried to find more with no luck. I went as far as calling Yum customer service, gave the lady all the info on the package, and she found them. Catch was that it was not a mass produced bait, only produced for the Walmart "sale" bin. Never have seen them again.......

Yep. Strike King Shaw's pro series 4" creature hog. Stopped making them a year or two ago. I have a pack but have never used them.

I really appreciate it guys. I haven't tried these things yet, so I don't know if they're worth searching for, but at least now I have some leads. :)

I'm pretty sure that's the same bait as what Snook is talking about, but it was made by Yum. Just called The Creature. Didn't last long, iirc, maybe 9 months or so. I'll see if I can find an old catalog.

That yum bargain bin is filled with weird off the wall baits. Brush hog knock offs, coffe scented tubes, coffee scented lizards, swimbaits, crawz. I'm not sure what the deal is but they are all cheap as heck.

Well, yes and no. The price isn't bad ($1.96), but you're not getting a full pack of baits, either. This pack only had 6 creatures in it.
