Have you ever lost a brand new lure? When I say that I mean brand new, like first time ever using it new. I lost a 6" weedless hudd 2 days ago. I made maybe 10 casts with it. Then I decided to try and tuff guy it way out there, I got a tiny backlash and it was enough to stop my line and the shock snapped my knot. It was really such a huge disappointment to watch it happen. I never even got a bite on it and I lost it. It was a shame to loose such a nice lure like that and they are not really cheap either.

Think we all have. I've lost a Rattle trap and a spend Spinnerbait on the first cast,on separate occasions. I lost a 6 inch non weedless Hudd a few weeks ago,got snagged up.

I've done it several times, it really hurts when it's an expensive bait or one you have high hopes for. I lost my first Spro Little John crank within the first 30 minutes and after only catching maybe 4 or 5 fish on it.
Is it spring yet??

Lost a SK red eye lipless on my first cast, hung up on a stump. I've done the same thing with new jigs, but not on the first cast.

Yep probably to many to remember. The last time was a strike kings 6xd brand spanking new never been thrown and I had switched the hooks for some Grammys I had. Threw it out got it hung in a bush very first cast and lucky me left my plug knocker at home. :D

Anyone else have trouble with the Rapala DT series lips breaking off? Me and my friend have broken probably around 10-15 between us.

I've broken many lips on the DT's. A couple of times it happened, I couldn't figure out why or how.

I bought my dad an A-rig for his birthday and in the first couple of cast got snag and lost it! So being the good son that I am I went out and got him another one. Then on the FIRST CAST he backlash and I guess he didn't have a good knot or something because the A-Rig just flew out in the lake. He said "I guess its just not ment for me to fish with an A-Rig don't buy me other one of those lures agian"

Spoons, jerkbaits, crankbaits(deep divers) and lipless cranks= Bad luck for me....I either snag it on the first cast, tie a bad knot or a toothy critter steals em'.

If you have a lucky lure in any of the mentioned above...don't let me use it....I will lose it within 30 min. probably the same reason why I don't use them much either....lol
The magic lure in your tackle box is the lure you have the most confidence in.

Sure - especially lipless cranks. I fish from the bank a lot and loose them from time-to-time. Countdown the bait and run it across the grass - but there are stumps and structure down there in the middle of the grass. Some are lost in the first few casts, some I at least catch a few fish on. If a lipless crank is lucky, it will catch quite a few fish...but it will eventually be lost. I lost count at about 25 lost lipless cranks over the last two seasons. I would imagine I'm at 30 or 35 by now.

One little cove that I fish a lot from the bank has lots of underwater stumps. Over time, I've found most of them - one lipless crank at a time. I've lost at least 15 lures in that cove. High risk on lures indeed...but I've pulled a 9, an 8, and a number of 5 and 6 pounders out of that water so the risk is worth it. Example - on January 11 this year, I tied on a 3/4oz RES to see how a particular rod would handle that weight. I was in the high-risk/high-reward cove. Caught a 5.02 on the first cast of the brand-new bait. On the second cast, I hung it on a stump that I knew was out in that direction...that 3/4oz bait ran deeper than my usual 1/2oz RESs and I hit the stump - thought I was high enough in the water column to miss that one....
Just fish...
