Im going threw bass fishing withdrawal some thing fierce so I figured I should practice my flipping and pitching technique I got 8 months left here plenty of time to master it but here my question. Is it worth practicing with a cheaper rod and reel then I would normally use? like I don't wanna have my nice revo and veritas sent over here and get ruined so I was thinking one of my older starter reels and a cheap Walmart rod in the same or close to the length I would use. Like will I be back at square one once I have a better reel that's gonna cast different or is it pretty much the same its just a technique like if u can do it with one you can do it with all?

it is definitley worth practicing, just trying to get the technique down is what its about. get that jig to float about 2 inches from the ground.

You can use a cheap rod and real, just get the technique down first.

I already know how to do it but there's always room for improvement I just wasn't sure if it would be worth it just to go back to my revo's and get a nest cuz im used to a cheap reel not free spooling as nice or what ever the reel does when you do it

If you can pitch with substandard gear, just think what you will do when you get your good stuff in hand. Besides, it's just good therapy to practice and relax.
I was looking in the garage the other day and trying to move through all my wife's stuff and you'll never guess what I found ? My boat.

Whatever works. Funny you bring this up. May sound stupid but I have been using baitcasters on a regular basis for so long now, when I tried to cast a spinning setup last week, I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn.
Is "basstiality" the same as sleeping with the fishes?

that's funny I do the same some times when I first pick it up takes me a few casts to get it down then im good but there are a few strays that's for sure.
I may just have my wife send my POS Quantium burst to practice with because if it gets broken or stolen I wont care
