Well I am bank fisherman so maybe thats a problem.
Honestly once you know what to look for and get a understanding of where they travel and hang out at. You can easily catch them off the bank.

Very true. Fortunately the two guys I've been going with have been doing this for a long time. They are teaching me how and where to locate and find them.Learning how to catch them is easy. Finding them is another story.

I live in Montgomery,AL. I have a Abu 4600C3 and a Abu 6500C3. We have the Robert F Henry Lock & Dam on the Alabama River and the Jordan Dam on the Coosa River.
I like the round Abu Garcia reels. They are some strong and durable little reels. I would imagine you should be able to catch them at the base of both dams. We were catching them a few weeks back at the base of Logan Martin dam. Try throwing a white fluke on a white jig head. Everyone out there was nailing them on those. Especially when they are running water outta the dam.
