Now to the fishing, I have finished 2nd in a club tournament out of 164 people at Lake Guntersville, 3rd at Smith Lake out of 30 people, 4th at Lake Guntersville out of 15 boats, 21st at Lake Eufaula out of 150 boats, 8th out of 40 boats at Neely Henry. I helped win back to back state championships for my school team. I joined a club and I was told I would never climb the points to be in the Top 10 of the year out of 32 people who had over 300 points on me, I told them they were wrong. I fished my butt off and at the end of this year I ended up in 10th place with 735 points. I need all the help I can get to pursue my dream of fishing in the Elite Series, without sponsors it will be impossible! Please consider me in your prostaff!

Many sponsors follow the Opens. Do well in the Opens and you will have a greater probability of securing sponsors as long as you continue to fish professionally and move up in the tournaments you participate.
To fish the Southern Open you will need a boat and be able to travel to the various locations. It is expensive to get started as a professional bass fisherman. This is why you need the college degree to have a career that will allow you to fish and cover the overhead.
If you still want to try to obtain sponsors you will have to use some shoe leather and visit various businesses to try to have them sponsor you. But that is another story in itself.

Get a college degree in biology or bass fisheries from a Sea Grant University; win your state BASS or FLW tournaments; win the win the BFL tournaments; win or do very well in the BASS Southern Open and you will be contacted by sponsors if you continue to do well.

I had planned on attending Bethel University and Majoring in Biology hopefully on a fishing scholarship!
