Hey guys,

It's been awhile since i've been on here just wanted to let everyone know everythings going well. I leave for the University of Alabama (major in metallurgical engineering and minor in econ) the 17th and hopefully going to join the bass club if school doesn't get to hectic. Worked hard this last year in school finished with a 3.0 which was originally a 2.5 overall besides that just been working 45 hours a week as a janitor so i got pocket change for college.

On the tournament end it has been ok; did about average throughout the season and had rough tournament this pass month but besides that just been trying to get better and learning as much as I can. College bass is gonna be a whole different level and I still need to work a little more on my boating skills but I think I am ready.

Again thanks to all the old guys on here who helped me alot couldn't have done it without you guys. Besides fishing this forum helped alot on my writing skills and just communicating my thoughts with others. Thanks again!!!

Tight lines,

Austin

Edit: Also uploaded some good fish pics from this year check them out

Howdy Stranger!

I was starting to think you'd been roped by some young gal and had given up fishing.

Here's hoping that you enjoy college life. Keep that nose in the books.

Austin, my son went to Bama for two semesters. My wife pulled him out as he was having too much fun.

Too much fun at Bama? And to think she would not send him to LSU as Baton Rouge is too close to New Orleans!

Wonderful hearing you are headed to T-Town. We love the place and the Bama folks are super people. Bama is always a great place to go watch a football game and enjoy the atmosphere.

Hit Dreamland. Best bar-b-q in the south. It is a guy's place so when your parents visit you may want to take them somewhere else although if your mom is a fun person she will enjoy herself.

Just remember that your studies are first. Don't get into the football crowd that only talks about football and do not keep up with their assignments and classwork. They will have a great time but will be gone.

The girls at Bama are beautiful, as are the ones at the SEC schools. This is what got my son in trouble, chasing girls, getting into football heavy and trying to join a fraternity.

Check out the Bear Bryant Museum. If you have not seen it give your self at least two to three hours. It is outstanding. Watch the videos of the Bear. They are funny. He is drunk and the host of the show covers for him. Don't miss them.

Get that degree! You can go far with a degree in your field of study and will have life long friends and super memories of your years at Bama.

As for my son? We put him in Campbell University at the Creek where he graduated. He is now married, has two kids and a great dog, and his Masters in IT from VCU. Go figure.

Now go outside and practice saying "Roll Tide!"

With the exception of the studying advice disregard this message. Well upon reflection the girls arent half bad, more fun than the football there. Also Dreamland is the bomb diggiddy bomb bomb. The food is straight gnardog, I highly recommend it. As for the rest though its all lies. ;)
