I am new to building jigs and I am already addicted to the hobby. I built some swim jigs last night with the smj-3-sf using a mustad 30 degree 32886bln hook.

My question: what is a light wire hook that will fit this mold without doing any modifications?

I can't vouch for it but the Mustad 32724 NP is a 28° hook which I am sure will fit in the mold which is for a 30° hook. 2° on such a small distance won't be a factor as far as fit goes. I do know that the 32724 hooks are thinner in diameter than the 32886 hooks. Hope this helps. There aren't many variables unless you go to a thinner 60° hook and bend the hook eye. However I wouldn't recommend that as you may stress the hook eye and it might break.

The Mustad 91768 hook will fit in the mold, and is a lighter wire hook. However, it is a wide gap hook. I have been using the 91768 wide gap hook in the same mold, and it is working great.

The Mustad 32724 NP fits that mold perfect!
It is .045" thick compared to the 32886BLN at .057"
I use the 4/0 in all three sizes
