The camera on the rod was a great touch. Thanks for that. This needs to be a sticky!

Hey fluke do you always bring the spool to a stop just before hitting the water or do you go ahead and let it hit the water then stop?
I always stop it or I get bird nests but I was curious on what you do.

P.s. X2 on the shirt.
Don't tell me what you can't do tell me what you've tried

I almost always stop it before it hits the water, with the exception of fishing deep. When fishing deep I will start to pull the rod way back behind me ass the bait hits the water. I do this to give myself a lot of slack line for a vertical fall to deep water.

I stop it as well. But don't slam your thumb causing it to stop fast. Doing so can cause your line to go taunt and the lure to get wrapped around the line. Thumb the spool to make it stop but slower.

Great how to video..Gene
Could you post up a video with a little more detail
on adjusting the brake and tension controls and
how it affects the size of the lure. The video dosen't
show the lure or rod tip.

thanks

James
