These are 1/8oz jigs with a 3/0 hook tied using a little buck tail for the tail, black chenille, orange hackle and red grizzly soft hackle. I'm going to try these out on cold water smallies in the late fall/early winter. Insipiration came from my friends father, he is an avid crappie angler and after giving my friend the hair jigs he wanted his dad asked why you never see regular bass jigs that look like his crappie jigs as he often catches bass on them when he is out after crappie. Well he gave me a jig to look at and I put my own spin so the only issue now is to try them out.

Nice twist smalljaw. I bet they will work just fine on those mean brown fish.

Your friend's dad has good instincts. They will catch smallies in clear water anytime of the year... not just spring & fall.
