I removed the factory installed depth finder from the console of my Nitro 591 to install at Lowrance HDS7.  I need to fill the vacant hole, and am looking for a source for a flat piece of white fiberglass to use as a blank off plate/cover.  Can you anyone provide a recommendation.  Thanks, Bill

How about just buying a piece of brushed aluminum the size of the hole and then only cut out what you need for the fish finder. If you wanted to go a different route you could even make a fiberglass filler and then paint it or wrap it in something like fake carbon fiber.

I would suggest you find a compartment that you can install in that spot. Something with a door rather than sealing it off. If there is room to put a glove box I would definitely do it. Even installing a radio up there would be nice.

Thank You all.  A glove box, or a small cubby to stick small items was my first idea.  Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find a radio or glove box small enough to fit.

White plexiglass or lexan would likely be easier to find than a flat piece of fiberglass.  One of the problems with fiberglass would be the edges.  You could touch them up with white, but with  plexi or lexan  all you need to do is smooth the edges when you've got it to size.  You can also get plexi or lexan that is dark tinted which might work.  Depends on the color of your console, and your preference.  Just a couple of ideas.

Regards, Tom

Lowes sell 4X8 sheets of white fiberglass about 1/8 in thick.   More than you need but fairly inexpensive.  I used it to make the shower walls in my Cargo trailer toyhauler conversion.  One side has a small texture and the other is smooth.  20ish a sheet.  Score it deeply with a razor knife and break it to cut.

try contacting Nitro. I removed the broken unit from my dash and Crestliner sent me a cover to match the console.

Thank you 3dees.  I will do that.  Yours looks great.  The EGA looks great there too.

McMaster has any kind of fiberglass or fr4 material you want. I would pick an fr4 because it hase smooth surface and does not have burrs. Also they sell it in different colors and sizes like 12x12 or 6x6

Try googling HDPE sheets. There are several online retailers that will cut your exact dimensions fairly cheap and in any color or thickness. I used a piece to make the bezel for a water pressure gauge and tilt meter when I tooth out an old round flasher.
