I'm looking for a jig with an arm attached to the head so that I can make my own prop jigs. Would I be better off getting a spinnerbait body and cutting it where I need to, or does what I am looking for exist?

Are you trying to make one like the one Elron(not sure on spelling) used to make? My dad gave me a few of them and man those things are awesome jigs!!! If you figure out how to make them, please let me know.

Oh ok, totally different from the design i was thinking of. Looks good none the less! I would think you would be able to take a spinnerbait head and cut the wire you need to like you said, then just buy the beads and prop. Hardest part looks like the part just above the head that keeps everything from sliding down. Not sure how you would do that part.

Make it from a spinnerbait.

The first time I had seen a prop jig was yesterday when I saw this post.  The second time I saw one was today at work when my coworker/fishing buddy showed me some stuf he had bought yesterday.  One of the guys in his fishing club makes them and sells them really cheap.  He told me the guy's website, but it was not correct.  I will have to find out some more info from him.

When I zoom in to the part at the offset bend, it appears that they tied a ball of thread and sealed over it as if you were finishing the head of a fly. If you're not a fly tier, 2 solutions I can think of is using a rivet from a buzzbait and crimp it down. The other thing is you can get a colored egg bead which tends to have a smaller inside diameter than metal beads. Just a thought.

Thanks for the help guys.I cut the arm of a spinner in half and added some beads and a prop, and added a 3/8 inch piece of shrink tubing between the head of the jig and the beads and prop, works well so far. I am having trouble making a loop for the line tie, any suggestions?

heres what I have so far. I plan on replacing the skirt with better material, and then the line tie I'm having trouble with.

Looks good DeakNH03, it's hard to see the line tie with the pic, but the line tie you have looks like it would work. If you get your hands on a pair of needle nose pliers with rounded jaws, that would certainly make the job easier. I think I got mine from Janns for like 10 bucks. Prior to that I used to wrap it around a 16d nail for the loop and then put the loop in a vice and wrap the wire around itself.

Good luck with it.

Very nicely done. Definitely get yourself some round nose pliers. That will make it much easier to do the line tie.

Are you seriously trying to rip off my bait? Honestly? When this website started I was nice enough to place a link on my own site (on each and every page!) to help promote this forum, and I have left it there to this day in good faith for a productive partnership. Doesn't make much sense for me to continue promoting this site when the members are blatantly ripping me off. I'm sure any sensible person would have to agree.

Mods, I will not tolerate your members infringing on my technology as long as I am promoting your site. Please advise on a future course of action asap.

your kidding right? This lure in slightly different forms is made by several different manufacturers, and I have actually never heard of your bait, or company, and I do not plan to sell these, I make them for myself to use.
