Hey my name is Casey I am 20 years old and live in South Ga. I begin fishing at the age of 5 and fell in love with it. I started fishing in little tournaments in my home town about 5 years ago. I love the competition and the sport. I plan to attend the FLW Lake Seminole Tournament in October. I will be fishing as a Co-angler in the tournament. My question to yall is. How can I get sponsors to notice me at the tournament?

Don't be shy. Go out shake some hands. Introduce your self to people. Conduct yourself with a high level of maturity and make them remember you. Not to mention fish your head off! You would have to place pretty high to get the attention you want.

Remember, if it was as easy as going to 1 big tournament to get sponsored, everyone could do it. Good luck.
Always in persuit of that big bite.

Go to FLWOutdoors website and check out the co-angler standings for the Bulldog Division. You will see that the guy leading it is Ryan Lamb. We know him as Senko77 on here. He is 17 years old and sponsored by some big names like Spro. He was approached by Spro. He didn't seek them out they called him and asked him if they could help. This happened because he can flat out win.

So go win some tournaments agains the older guys and then go from there.

I usually stay off this page because I see so much that is out in left field, but what was said above nails the way it works. You will find out that this fishing industry has a lot of participants, but the industry itself is quite small. If Spro, as an example, knows your name, then so does most of the rest of the industry. You need to develop a name. There is no shortcut or magic resume that is going to do the trick. Also, it is important to remember that reputation will spread both good and bad, but bad will spread quicker.

Casey, the advice given above is dead on.  Be social at the tournament, make sure tou WATCH EVERY MOVE your boater makes to learn as much as you can, and most importantly...let your rod and reel do the talking.

As Flukemaster said in his post, I have had companies approach me wanting to form partnerships just from placing well.  I have a pretty weak resume and don't do alot of pursuing when it comes to aquiring sponsorships.

BTW, I left a little mojo at the mouth of Spring Creek back in March....there's an island with some isolated grass patches that yielded my 10-4lb kicker I caught at the BFL.

Kick butt man!  I wish the best for you.

Also, pay close attention to #19 in Sam's list of advice.  If I could only give you one piece of advice...that would be it    ;D

Well heck I am good with 1-3 but I ain't taking my tats off for no one!  ;D

but then again... the only way you would even know I had one is if I were to take my shirt off... but then I guess that would lead into number 3  :o
