Hey guys! I had to go to South Florida this weekend to visit family so I brought the poles with me. My sister has a house on a canal right next to holiday park (less than a 5 minute drive to the park) and so I had all day saturday and part of sunday to fish the canal behind the house. My neices who are 10 and 11 years old told me they would like to go with me so I bought a few dozen shiners to keep them entertained. After catching over 50 bass they were wore out and wanted to go home. This was great because they had a good time and it left me a few shiners to have fun with myself. I caught the majority of my bass on a watermelon seed zoom super fluke and a june bug colored worm however I did catch quite a few bass on a swimmin senko (chrismas colored) and a few on a horny toad. I didnt see any bass on the beds which is what I hoped for but we still did manage to catch quite a few decent fish. In the video it may appear like I keep taking their rod from them when they have a fish on but I there was a hydrilla at that the fish kept getting stuck in that extended 10 ft from the bank. I was just lifting the fish out of the mat. There is also a bass that I think may have been bit by a baby alligator as we were reeling it in. There was a baby that came by about 2 feet long at the longest that took a swat at the bass as we reeled it in. Soon after big momma made her way down the bank so we let them have the fishin hole and moved a lot further down the bank. All in all it was a great trip. My girlfriend caught her personal biggest (6 pounds) and my neice caught her biggest as well (5 lbs). Cant wait to get back down south and do it all over again. Until then im back in Orlando with a bass boat and hope to have a johns lake video for you next week.
