I'm looking for a good waffle maker and was wondering if any of you make waffles at home? What should I look for when purchasing one?

I prefer a waffle iron over a waffle maker.;)

Anyway, we got a Hamilton Beach one that works real well. Had it for 8 years now and it works like the day we got it. Really isn't too much to look for that I know of. Just pick a brand and go for it.

Like Raider said I don't think there is to much to look for. We have an Oster and it makes waffles. Teflon coated would be the only thing I would worry about. :D

I have this one its ok I guess the kids love the thing. The light that comes on/off isnt all that useful I usually let it cook longer than it times out. It calls for putting oil in the mix but I just spray PAM on it otherwise they stick.

Thanks QUAKEnSHAKE, I forgot about the rotating models, I'll have to look into to that. The one we have doesn't rotate and only delivers about 600 watts of power, so it takes a while for the waffles to cook and get browned. My wife was hoping to get one with removable hot plates so she could throw them in the dishwasher, so I'll have to research that a bit as well.

Thanks again.

some foreman grills come with waffle plates, plus you have the other 72 plates to cook everything else on too.

I bought one of these: http://www.amazon.co...=cm_cr_asin_lnk for the wife about five years ago and we love it. It makes killer waffles, just like the ones you get at a hotel.
