Erwin Wins Bass Fishing League Tournament on Fort Gibson Lake

 

Boater Joe Erwin of Claremore, Okla., won the May 7 Bass Fishing League Okie Division tournament on Fort Gibson Lake to earn $7,575. Ken Coats of Tulsa, Okla., won the Co-Angler title on May 7 in the BFL Okie Division on Fort Gibson Lake to earn $2,288.
                      
WHAT:              Boater Joe Erwin of Claremore, Okla., caught a five-bass limit weighing 18 pounds, 7 ounces May 7 to win $4,575 plus a $2,000 Ranger Cup and $1,000 Mercury bonus in the BFL Okie Division tournament on Fort Gibson.

NOTES:            The next BFL Okie Division tournament is scheduled for June 18 on the Arkansas River in Muskogee, Okla. After the fifth Okie Division tournament is complete, the top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers based on point standings will qualify for the Nov. 3-5 Regional Championship on Lake Dardanelle in Russellville, Ark. Boaters will compete for a top award of a Ranger 198VX with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard and a Chevy pick-up, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger 198VX.
