Lancaster Wins Bass Fishing League Arkie Division Event on Greers Ferry Lake

GREERS FERRY, Ark. (May 12, 2008) - Boater Justin Lancaster of Plainview, Ark., won the Wal-Mart Bass Fishing League® Arkie Division tournament on Greers Ferry Lake Saturday with a five-bass catch weighing 13 pounds, 2 ounces. The victory earned Lancaster $3,801 plus a $670 Ranger contingency bonus and placed him one step closer to qualifying for the Kentucky and Barkley Lakes Regional Championship in Gilbertsville, Ky., Oct. 2-4, where he could ultimately win a new 198VX Ranger boat and a Chevy truck.
   Lancaster caught his fish in trees and rocks 4-10 feet deep with a green-pumpkin lizard and jig.
   Rounding out the top five boaters are Duke Gunnell of Mexia, Texas (five bass, 12-00, $1,864); Tony Jones of Alma, Ark. (five bass, 12-00, $1,864); Gabe Herrington of Malvern, Ark. (five bass, 11-10, $1,043) and Mark Ellis of Malvern, Ark. (five bass, 11-03, $894).
   Shawn Fife of Drasco, Ark., took home the Boater Division Snickers Big Bass award, earning $650 for an 8-pound, 1-ounce bass he caught on green-pumpkin ChatterBait.
   Robert Percy of Hot Springs National Park, Ark., earned $2,197 as the co-angler winner Saturday thanks to five bass weighing 9 pounds, 14 ounces that he caught on a white spinnerbait in trees in 2 feet of water.
   Rounding out the top five co-anglers are Johnny Manning of Arkadelphia, Ark. (five bass, 8-13, $915); Tim Rasberry of North Little Rock, Ark. (five bass, 8-13, $915); Colin Griffin of London, Ark. (five bass, 8-12, $513) and Jeff Broyles of Malvern, Ark. (four bass, 8-07, $421).
   Percy earned $315 as the co-angler Big Bass winner after catching a 2-pound, 15-ounce bass he caught on a white spinnerbait.
   The division's fourth qualifying event will be held on Lake Dardanelle in Russellville, Ark., June 21. A two-day Super Tournament, the division's fifth and final event, will be held on Lake Dardanelle in Russellville, Ark., Sept. 13-14.
