A statement from pro angler Kevin VanDam regarding his disqualification from the Bassmaster Elite Series at Santee Cooper.
I take full responsibility for violating a BASS rule. I did not do it purposely and I did not realize I was breaking any rules. In my 16-year career, I have worked with the utmost integrity and would never knowingly violate a rule. I accept the determination and made a mistake by not thoroughly understanding the rules. I'm looking forward to moving on the Guntersville event and my focus is on the reminder of the season.
