LAKE HAVASU CITY, AZ. (Oct. 6) -- Local pro angler Jason Kisselburg walked off with his first ever WON BASS Tour win on Sunday, capturing the Lake Havasu Invitational with 26.89 pounds for 10 bass. Fishing was generally only fair for the anglers following a mild cold front that moved through the desert earlier in the week and slowed what had been a red hot bite for smallmouth and largemouth bass.
Kisselburg topped the field of 116 Pros by flipping jig-and-pig combos in the brush in both the lake and upriver to win the $36,000 first place package of a Ranger 519VX boat and trailer, Mercury 175 outboard, Lowrance Electronics, Trojan batteries and a MotorGuide trolling motor. Second place and $9,100 went to another local pro, Clint Goodwin, who was over 4 pounds behind the winner at 22.67 pounds. Third was taken by first-time WON BASS entrant Bill McAninch of Tucson, AZ, who went home with $7,1404.
The largest bass each day earned $1,500 each for the anglers, including a 4.76 pounder for Rob Morris of Escondido on day one and a 4.14 pounder for Roy Hawk of Salt Lake City, UT on the second round.
