Winterset here.  I am also new to the forum.

Its not that I consider fishing so terribly important, its just I suspect the other concerns of men are equally unimportant and not nearly as much fun.

I do not live in Iowa, but if there were no trees behind my house I could see it from my deck. I live just across the Mississippi River in Illinois.

I see there are a lot of guys here from Pool 19. As close as I live to that pool I have not been on it. A guy I know runs the ABA tournies down there and has invited me down a bunch of times, but I have yet to make it. Maybe I can get down there for some fun fishing this year. Of course, I have no clue where anything is down there.

JT shoot me a line any time and I will be more than happy to tag along with you on Pool 19.  I am out on it a couple days a week for sure.  MOF I'll be out in it here real soon.  I am gonna go visit my local home lake tonight.  Things are really starting to open up here in southeast Iowa.  Ice is gone and its time for the boats. Thanks for the offer.

I half way thought about fishing that Stren Tourney down there in July, but I am not sure if I will have time.

This warmer weather in this area sure is nice. The snow is just about all gone from my yard. Another day and it will be for sure.

What lake was that you fished, only thing I can think of in that neck of the woods is Pollmiller Pond that one lake out by Donnelson. Did you do any good?

I went today on the river with no luck. Lot of ice still floating around in the harbor. Only a small area where theres some rocks was open, I thought there'd be at least one in there though. Those rocks should have absorbed enough sunlight to warm the water just a little and bring em in. Maybe a little more warm weather and I can start to catch em.

Yes I fished P last night.  I am itching to get back on the river but I am waiting for the ice chuncks to end, I don't care for them so much.  I got 5 bites last night just FYI.

I take it you live close to me?  Nobody knows about P. Wink

Yea, I live in Burlington. I wrote earlier on this thread about possibly fishing with you this spring to prep. for non-boater tourney. I just have to get a new truck so I can fish most days after work. Going looking this weekend so hopefully I'll be fishing for more than 30 mins by mid-week next week.

Yeah sorry, my bad, I remembered it after the fact! Roll Eyes  I have an open spot in the back of my boat a lot of times so just get ahold of me.  Like I said I don't fish too many tournaments but I fish almost every day.  We were out again tonight with a buddy from Muscatine at P and got into a few fish again.  They are starting to come around. I went to the river again tonight and fished around the docks. Still nothing. I tried Jig/Pig, Chatterbait, Spinnerbait. There were pretty much GLACIERS!! floating around in the harbor. I thought I had one pick it up, but not sure. The water cant be but 35 degrees or so with all that ice. Next Friday my brother and I are hitting the 2nd Pumping station north of B-town off highway 99.

Des Moines here.  Finally coming out of hibernation.  No lake is too far away as far as I'm concerned.  3 mile, Brushy Creek, Green Valley, would fish the Mississippi everyday if it were a little closer.  Recently have become a fan of the Des Moines River too...decent smallies in there.

well my cousin brother and me got out yesterday to do a little fishing we fished 2 creeks that were open and the channel was open about from shore to 30 feet out
we fished plastics and some cranks but didnt have any takers and seen some gar breaking the surface so we threw on some rattle traps and with in a few minutes fish on
i ended up with about 7or8 and brother and cousin got about 4 apiece
they were all short nose gar but its a fish
so we got our fix for a little while
plan on gettin the boat out next weekend
they opened fishing next to the dams for walleye so im sure thats what we will be going after

We had a decent weekend down our way and even saw a 6# 3oz Hawg get landed on a jig.  River should be coming around soon but I haven't checked it out much yet.  Getting high now so I hope that doesn't stay around too long.

Hey rellison.
I had another post in the "my tourney" board about last weekend. On sat. I caught 2 bass one around 4.5 and the other 7.5ish. Caught
them out of a pond on a golf course in IL. Then on sunday a went again and my buddy got about a 4.5 and I got one right after that officially weighed, 4lb 6oz (took the scale on sun. so I wouldnt have to give rough guesses)
What kind of potential does Pollmiller have? Ive been wanting to give it a try since you mentioned it. I finally got a new truck so I can do some serious fishin now. I'm currently waiting on Roses to get my rods in. I ordered 9 of them last monday and havent heard from them yet.
