  2. Picked up a Daiwa Tatula 100, 3 Booyah pad crashers, 12lb sniper FC, and 65lb 832 braid.
  3. Looks like I'm going to contact my eye doctor tomorrow about these.
  4. Lews t shirts or anything with a Smallie on it screams style😂
  5. The difference between a good pork rind jig trailer and a poor one is floatation and suttle movements. Leather sinks although the Leather Baits claims otherwise, look at the product at the bottom of the tank, they don't float! I am not trying to promote pork rind trailers and realize they are history and not going make pork trailers for anyone but myself. Tom
  6. I don’t have a dog in this fight, but st Croix makes as quality a blank as you’ll find anywhere. High modulus rods are super sensitive but intolerant of any level of misuse. This includes overloading, high sticking and rough handling. High sticking is any motion that bends the tip past 90* to the butt, which may not involve pointing the tip vertically. In the OP circumstances I think there was a combination of overload and over flex that contributed. IMO honesty is the best policy. Just tell them what happened and ask respectfully what they can do to help. Good luck.

  8. I'd throw the Fat Boy, which I have. It's the only one of the Norman lures that can be counted on to run true right out of the package. I've used Norman lures for over 30 years, and that's the way they've been for over 30 years.( I've heard that the Fat Boy isn't even a Norman design, but I don't know that for sure.) The rest of them are kinda like the rich uncle who's always drunk; you tolerate the bad points to get the birthday presents. As much as I've cussed them, Bill Norman's little babies have given me some really nice birthday presents. Pounds and pounds worth. jj

  11. I would be first in line if they came out with polarized contact lenses lol. God I hope that isn't a thing...
  12. I only buy or sell used gear from reputable people. For instance if I posted a rod/reel for sale on this site and you asked me to purchase it I would probably shy away because you only have four posts. My guys looking to rip people off create multiple accounts or fake account ( lots of that on FB marketplace). I also tend to look for guys that have some sort of tournament experience or reputation to uphold. Guys like that sometimes sell their older gear when they're changing sponsors or want the latest and greatest. Chances are if he's got a professional page the last thing he wants to do is get wrapped up in a controversy. This doesn't mean its always a safe bet. NEVER use paypal friends and family, its almost a given that your money will get gone and you won't get what you want. Seldom have I found quality gear at a garage sales. I always tell new anglers that are looking to save money to just buy last years model. 9 times out of 10 its just slight cosmetic changes with a few minor performance upgrades. Do your research first.
  13. Thx, maybe sunglasses should come with a built-in fan lol
  14. Hey did you know ALL Norman lures are made in America? And not just the manufacturing process, but everything. From concept to store shelves, everything is done right in their Alabama and Arkansas locations. Which Norman lure would YOU throw if you were fishing right now?
  15. Usually they include washers ( spacers ) in the box to fix issues with the line laying weird.
  16. Very cool! Put me on your Christmas list :-)
  17. Just got a pair of slack tides the other day. Went for them over a fully enclosed pair like the tuna alley or fan tail which were on my list. IMO the Slack Tide look better as a casual pair than the tuna alley etc. Still want a pair of full wrap around for fishing but those will come with time. That being said when I did have my slack tides pressed tightly against my face I did have a little fog up. Pulled them away and I didn't have an issue all day. I've had similar issues with other brands on hot days that are not open on the bottom. Just think its something that happens to most enclosed wrapped glasses.
  18. Sorry didnt mean to hijack this thread. It can be moved to one of mine or “show your work”
  19. This thread is over a year old and op hasn't posted since July
  20. They make fishing clothing??? Whoda thunkit? I always wear clothes that were ready for the wash anyway... jeans, old sneakers, a hat, and whatever short sleeve T shirt I'm wearing. In winter I'll use long sleeves.
  21. Maybe the new Stradic CI4+ will be white, that would be sick...
  22. ill take the caenan! ill pm address
  23. Made new bunks at home then went to the closest boat ramp and beached the boat and replaced the bunks.
  24. I've been targeting them for two seasons now, I learned a lot and do not lose many fish. A HEAVY rod, and the cheapest frogs (I get 25 for $18 on Ebay) you can get with STRONG hooks will work. I use black or green 20 pound 4 strand braid without leader and up to ~10 pounds (my PB) I haven't lost a fish though I can envision trying to horse one out of dense weeds and losing one now and again. I have 30 pound but it's on my backup rod. My fishing buddy uses 40 or 50 pound, with even heavier leader... he refuses to even think about losing a fish :-) Stainless lip grippers are a must and they had better be very strong as snakeheads ruin cheap aluminum models. I use a boga grip, they let the fish spin around and do their insaneo dance and it holds them tight, and all of the models have a scale built in. On cheaper lip grips, if the grip has only a lanyard to let the fish spin that would be a second choice. If you use a net, get a long one.
  25. Thoughts and prayers to those in the area near Joplin, MO. They got some pretty bad damage in a nearby city Carl Junction this evening. Exactly 8 years since I was there during the awful tornado on May 22nd, 2011.
  26. Top one is Lime-purple passion, haven't seen it anywhere for a couple years.
  27. Another thing to consider is length of boat also means shallower draft in most cases. My ATAK 140 drafts shallower than the 120 which may or may not be a factor in your decision based on the lakes you fish, for me it is a plus to have a few inches shallower draft.
