  1. Past hour
  2. I really like the Exprides, and the poison adrena is only going to be better. I also have a H3, Zolo, Champion, and levante. While the kistler is lighter, the Exprides are better balanced and more sensitive. The Zolo is a nice feeling rod, but not sensitive compared the the H3 or Expride, and I don't like the exposed threads. The Levante is sensitive for the price, and it looks sweet too. If I had to rank them: Expride Levante/H3 Zolo Champion Ultimately the balance on the H3 is a big negative for me.
  3. new finesse combo- Orochi XX Whipsnake, Stradic Ci4+ 2500 and 15 lb Daiwa J-Braid. Really liking it for Neds, wacky and Neko rigs. I imagine it will be good for dropshotting and small poppers or jerkbaits. Also pictured is my new favorite topwater, the Duo Pencil 110. Bait casts a mile and walks beautifully. Fish love it.
  4. I’ve not used a weighted swivel rig yet, so I can’t say for certain what’s going on, but have you tried setting the hook faster. Maybe it’ll make the hook be not quite so deep in their mouth. Maybe also try crushing the barb down a bit with pliers so it’s easier to back out of their yap 🤷‍♂️
  5. I don’t start the day fishing a Ned Rig unless I am starting my fishing day at noon. on the water at 6am I am throwing topwater baits. Later in the day it’s time for finesse fishing and that’s when the Ned comes out.
  6. Hooks are too good. Problem I'm having is removing the hooks without damaging the fish. Hooks are Strike King Jointed Structure Head rigged with craws or creature baits. I love the set up. Love the hook up ratio. I have to use pliers to remove the hooks on EVERY single fish. Hook always lands in the upper side jaw, often thru the basses eye. Don't have the issue with any other bait. Something I'm doing wrong or is there a less lethal option as far as a weighted swivel head hook?
  7. I will. They are practically new. I was inquiring about prices before I posted them to save time and energy I did. 71, 151, 201 are lefties Checked them out and I have a good idea now. Thank you!
  8. I have a friend that sold all his stuff and quit when he had a boating accident that almost claimed his life. He's back into it somewhat again after 3 years out. I'm an old fart, late 70s, and fish several times a week either on a lake or with a kayak on local rivers. I've been fishing ever since my parents friend took me to the Santa Monica pier when I was 6.
  9. I have seen this technique done in fleshy parts of the body, the hand is a little more concerning for me but not KVD
  10. Heddon Cousin II I've even casted it into a sumberged mesquite tree to see if it atleast catch a friggin branch and get lost and wasn't able to do that !
  11. I have been bank fishing for the past 2 weeks and out of those 2 weeks I have only gotten like 2 or 3 fish I don't know if its my lure choice or just the hot weather I have tried chatter baits, rattle traps, jigs, texas rigs, topwaters and haven't been to successful with those.

  13. What model is the 7'1" MHXF rod? That is the only bottom contact rod you listed. Let's focus on 1 rod at a time. Tom
  14. i have 2 of the 7foot medium moderate for cranks topwater and jerkbait , 7'1 heavy fast for spinnerbaits and chatterbaits , 7'1 mhxf, and the 7'4 frog rod. Dobyns daiwa megabass kistler... no St.croix 13 duckett they don't make good rods
  15. Love TNG and DS9 - looking forward to the new show.
  16. I would have dropped dead from the heat. Navy blue and 102* doesn't mix well in my book
  17. Helps to know that at the start. Right or left hand? Seek and ye shall find. Try a Search. Sometimes you have to wait for the deal you are looking for. Example: Walmart can have some very good deals, but you have to watch daily as the price fluctuates. One day you might get an item at 10% off and the next week 40% off. ebay prices vary as well.
  18. Lew's Tournament MB $98.04 https://www.ebay.com/p/Lews-Tournament-MB-Speed-Spool-LFS-Series-7-5-1-TS1SHMB/18028313450 Lew's Tournament Pro LFS $140.00 https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Lews-Tournament-Pro-LFS-Speed-Spool-Baitcast-Fishing-Reel-7-5-1-RH-TP1SHA/401820739618?epid=24030640728&hash=item5d8e61e822:g:ad4AAOSwzFRdMcw9
  19. Is it worth it? I would say yes but it takes some getting use to. It is somehow slightly smoother than the K. I had heard of some people not having that great of luck with theirs but mine has been flawless. I have paired it with a St. Croix Legend Glass 7' M Mod and it will cast just about any crankbait a country mile without backlashing. I have been using it since the beginning of the year just about every weekend and it just keeps getting better. Also, I was able to pick mine up from DSG online for $199. I caught this one last weekend on this combo with a Megabass Deep X.
  20. Let us know how dropping Dobyns works out for you. If you have taken care of your rods they will have good resale value. Tom
  21. You are talking rods out of my budget. Rods in that price range I'd like to try...in no particular order: Poison Adrena, Expride, Orochi XX, Helium 3, Witch Doctor, IMX Pro and Fenwick World Class. At a lower price and still a bit much for me: KLX, iRod Air, Hammer JAK, Cara T7, Techna PX, Levante and ALX Expert. Like my Zolos (on sale or I wouldn't have any ). Also the Villain 2.0 is getting some good reviews. Picked up the 6'10" ML casting rod (on sale naturally), but only out once with it so far. I'm sure there are others. That is a nice price range to be in. Good luck finding the line you'd like to try.
