  1. Past hour
  2. @James Engle Have you tried a drop shot? You could keep that in front of them indefinitely. Try some finesse worms on the drop, as most do, but also try a craw type bait too.
  3. That's what I've heard but what I've seen on Cross Lake and Caddo says BS.
  4. Maybe action is the wrong word. It looks like it might not chatter or vibrate as much since there's less of a gap between the holes in the blade and the line tie, but I'm probably wrong. Did you come up with that blade/line tie design, or did you buy that? Is that a link from a chain? I like it. It would look even better with bigger eyes.
  5. The Mega Dawg walks really nice and it's a pretty big bait at 6" and 2oz. It's been doing a good job at filling the big walking bait spot in my lineup and they're readily available which is a plus too.
  6. Today
  7. Hey A-Jay, I just found your YouTube channel...man oh man do you have some awesome videos! I'm already dreaming of heading to Lake Baccarac😅

  8. Wow, lots of great recommendations! I appreciate it. I feel like I should be looking for an x-fast tip. Would you agree? The stiff broomstick rods tend to jack the frog around rather than walk it. Or maybe it’s just me lol. What do you think?
  9. Give a try to the Magnum Zara Spook or the Super Magnum Zara Spook. They´re not easy to find but they walk like a dream!
  10. @Fairtax4me thanks a lot for that post! Great info. I went and checked them out in person. I think I am gonna go with the 127. Bumped into a friend of mine at the paddle shop and he has a 127. He sold me on it lol.
  11. Last week there was a school busting in the middle of the lake right in the boat lane probably a mile from the nearest shore line. So you never know
  12. Shimano is weird like that, they will not service JDM stuff out of their US centers, you have to send them to independent reel service people and hope they can source any parts you might need.
  13. The original G Loomis IMX 723c or 724c would hook you up. These are excellent sensitive rods, super light and balanced.
  14. Definitely buy a Fuego CT. They can be found for 50-75 dollars, especially on eBay and Amazon. Don't get a Black Max. If you ever try pitching with one, you will instead want to pitch the whole setup into the water. The Silver Max is a huge upgrade for a little more.
  15. I use straight white vinegar over night, then rinse with clean water and dry.
  16. From the Bass Blaster Newsletter thingy; Clayton W in KS won the big BOOYAH giveaway -- congrats man! We run the giveaways on social, so make sure you're there. FB: JayKumarsBassblaster Insta: @bassblaster
  17. We're learning to tie shoes right now, I feel this in my soul.
  18. Had to stop and see if there were any crappie still biting where I found them a couple weeks ago. Still there, still biting.
  19. I have a 6' MH/F Lightning Rod I use in my kayak. There's some 6' MH/F Lightning Rod Shocks on FFO for $30 right now.
  20. Man your boy is a lot better than me. His fish is about twice the size of my bluegill. In fact this is my very first bluegill that I ever caught. I think I start to like more and more fishing for panfish on light setup.
  21. With 8 lb. hybrid it was at its worst, moving up to 12 helped a bit but it always failed out on my boat, and I had to use my spare rod. I never thought I'd be carrying a $40-$50 reel as a spare for a $200+ model, but as it is I need two setups on my boat so I can't rely on the Stradic. Funny I have other far less expensive Shimano reels (Sahara, Sienna and a Sedona) that do not hiccup a bit. The lesson if there is one do not buy reels made by Shimano made for distribution out of the country you reside in, they refuse to stand by them.
  22. Slow, steady retrieve 100% of the time for me.
  23. Great looking bait, I'll be interested to hear how it produces. I've been using a Mega Sexy Dawg as my poor man's Punker. The 6" Punker walks terrible and I don't want to give a kidney for a used wooden 8" Punker.
  24. I keep my jar inside a bigger jar packed with paper towels to catch my mistakes, it's worked great so far. If it's hot out, and you open it too fast, it will jump up and bite you for sure. I was fishing with my wife this day, she really appreciated getting to smell it the whole way home from the lake.
  25. Tossed the anchor in from my 2 man once without looking where the rest of the rope was. Quickly became obvious it was wrapped around the 3 rods I had in the boat with me as they when whistling over the side with the anchor rope. 2 of them stayed tangled in the rope when I pulled it back up, had to go swimming to get the 3rd back. One of them broke as it was slamming out of the boat. Also tossed an anchor out once before I'd clipped it to the rope. Anchor did exactly what it was supposed to do, would have worked a lot better if it had been attached to the rope though I think.
  26. They work for me but LC has done better over the years. The two that are moving up the board for me are the Jackal Squad minnow and Imakatsu Ripriser. I don't here much about theses on the boards but these two are close to making the starting lineup. Allen
  27. Cool. We have different experiences. Fishing is fun.
