  1. Past hour
  2. I have it in my Hobie. It's pretty awesome. Much more comfortable than bass boat carpet.
  3. I may get some of these they look cool. Favorite color? Joe
  4. I've never bough Shimano stuff from TW but I've heard they do a backdoor thing for Shimano during their sales.
  5. It depends on where I'm fishing, but if you gave me nothing but a bucket of minnows or a can of crawlers to use, I probably would probably catch more fish than if you only let me use artificials. But if you let me use only artificials, I probably would catch more bass.
  6. I haven't thought them underpowered. Call Mudhole for recommendations if you want to be assured.
  7. I currently have a cheap pretty unstable sit on top kayak. I am thinking about upgrading and have been having a tough time deciding between a pedal of paddle kayak. I fish a lot of small ponds and maximum size lake of about 700 acres. I am reluctant to go pedal drive because of cost(I can afford them but not sure I want to) and most of the waters I fish can get weedy and I don’t know if I want to be picking weeds out of a propeller every 15 minutes. There are also select ponds that are really shallow and weedy that I like to fish. My current kayak is a is a tank and super slow. I saw the ex123 and it looks appealing because it is stable and really quick. I was curious what everyone’s opinion is on this kayak or if anyone has any better ideas of what I should look for. Thanks in advance.
  8. Some use swivel to help about line twisted especially on spinning setup, some also use bigger swivel to help weight the Fluke down to fish deeper. I use small line diameter 6-10lb copolymer or sometime fluorocarbon to get the Fluke deeper and sink faster. And smaller line will help in Fluke action, remember you want the Fluke to dance side to side not pulling in straight line. Smaller braid might work with super soft tip but with stiffer rod tip on MH you might end up pulling the lure instead of jerking it.
  9. I've never fished a GLX but own several IMX pros and I really love the reel seat, my hands are small too.
  10. PETG seems to work. I guess theres just enough temperature resistance. No noticable deformation after 4 pours. A wood backing on the mold also seems to help evenly distribute clamping pressure.
  11. Today
  12. I’m with @CattI would invest in reel first then rod. With reel at least higher price ones, you would get smoothness, better drag smooth system, not BS max drag, trouble free and worry free and better ergonomic and better material and tolerance. With rod higher price rod, you might get lighter and better components but not durability. Also sensitivity is very subjective, in the hand of experiences even a cheap Walmart rod they still can feel fish bite, but $1000 rod in a hand of others might feel like broomstick. With all these, I don’t have any high end reels or rods. I believe in comfortable, light weight, color and budget.
  13. I tried this as well but found out pla isn’t the best. After 3 pours the mold started deforming.
  14. Well I don't think I've ever purchased a "swim jig", I just catch a lot of fish reeling in jigs especially through grass
  15. If you’re buying entry level then definitely spend more on the reel. Past that I believe the rod gets you more bang for your buck. There is much more to a rod than durability. If that were the main concern then ugly stiks would be one of the best rods on the market.
  16. Haha thanks. Been a good summer. Had a client catch the fattest I've ever seen for a River other day. 19.25"
  17. All my live bait dies after a few days in back of my car. the fake stuff swims as soon as it get back in the water. I even prefer to make my kids fish for bluegills with little jigs as we'll have a 0% fish mortality rate. if i give them corn or worms, even on circle hooks, they manage to let a few swallow the hook.
  18. Yellow and blue mixed make green and green means you can go. Oh, you already did. If my great great grand parents were born in Scotland and the other pair in Norway, why do I need to send in one of those DNA kits to determine where I come from?
  19. I went with 7 foot med hvy offset . Anything longer than 7 foot wont fit in the bed of my truck .
  20. Shimano Sedona reel is one of the best for the money buy a 3000 if you're chasing bass, you can always spool it with lighter line and catch crappie easily! 75.00 at big box stores if you're not afraid of online shopping you'll beat that price easily.
  21. My family has a condo on the Niangua arm of Lake of the Ozarks. LOTO has a rep of being crazy, but the Niangua end is more on par with some place on Table Rock, and you can avoid the Branson crowd. Fishing is great. Might be worth a look. Lots of condo choices there. Be warned, Missouri is fishable in the winter, but can still be absolutely frigid when it wants to.
  22. You want a perfect line which there are none. The mono tied to braid is defeating the purpose of using braid, like I said just use mono and forget about it.
  23. No I tie the hook straight onto the line, using a swivel changes the action of the fluke.
