  1. Past hour
  2. I am planning to do the plumber putty mount in the kayak hull. Is this a common thing that the Striker ClearVu doesn't work that way?
  3. Last season and this season has been a big change for me. I work Tuesday through Saturday now and don't get a lot if any practice time for events. What I do now is wing it so to speak. I wait until everyone else is gone before I run and usually I stay close to the ramp. I do this because the waters near me are heavily pressured with tournaments and all the fish are released in the same area. Ill do this and just troll shallow water maybe hit a spot I see in the distance and so forth. No real planning 😂. And actually I have been more successful this way. I won our last event and top 3 in our AOY race without prefishing a single event. I think it keeps me from over thinking everything.
  4. In recent years it seems the spinnerbait had fallen a little in popularity . So far this season in BASS Elite events , it has made a huge comeback . By my best count now , I have fished three times this year and caught 1 bass on a Texas rig , four on a crankbait and 120 on spinnerbaits .
  5. I was excited about his until I started price checking items. For nearly every item I was able to find the same cheaper elsewhere even after the discount.
  6. Z-Man 4" Swimmerz in Shiner Shallow diving squarebill Lucky Craft Pointer Micro jig with a SB, craw or creature Just read about this thing called a Fat Ika, I'm giving those some quality time this season.
  7. Well, I'm looking into it and will post Norman's reply. I thought all of their tackle was designed and built here, but I could be wrong. Will get back on this.
  8. I'm looking into it and will post Norman's response. It is my understanding that all of their models are designed and built here.
  9. I would add a glide swimbait to that collection of search baits, I also like casting a walking bait.
  10. I love my curado 200 PG which is 5.5:1. I find that even the 6 ratio reels are a bit fast for most moving baits. The 5.5:1 ratio is perfect, spoons flutter not spin, crankbaits are easy to retrieve as are big spinners. however, they are a dying breed of ratio, at least for shimanos these days. when my 200i dies i will have to maybe look at another brand.
  11. Let us know if it does or not, I for one am curious..
  12. In money events on large reservoir's tried to get a practice day or two in and try to find a spot that held fish , shallow or deep . In my early club days and usually on small waters , I mainly went shallow junk fishing . Put my trolling motor down and leave it down .
  13. I use mostly 6's - feels very fast compared to the old Langley Lurecast's and Shakespeare tournament no level wind reels I started out with.
  14. Drag technology has made modern spinning reels much more dependable with light lines and big fish.

    Plastisol

I've only been through 2 gallons of lurecraft and this is my first of the bait plastics, so I'm no expert. I have not noticed anymore bubbles than what I had with lurecraft. I have not noticed anything remarkably different either. However, my next gallon will be Dead On as I've read some good reviews on it. How's it working for you?
  16. Maybe it's because you purchase too much from them. I sure hope it's not based on where you live because I'm also from WI and have never had to pay sales tax either.
  17. Been tough conditions in the area lately, and apparently the ACoE has decided to "effectively" close Perry Lake for the rest of the year. There are rumors they're considering the same for Smithville. Anyone heard anything similar? Fished Smithville yesterday. Flipping the willows with brush hogs, jigs, spinnerbaits and some top water. Missed one bite and never had another all day.
  18. Overtons has 30% off again with MEMORIAL30 code. Guess I’ll spend more money.
  19. ALL made in America. In addition to precise quality control, a few other points would be: Job creation stimulating local economy They are able to quickly react to trends and improve time to peg speed Quick response to shortages and/or out of stocks Research and development of new shapes and or plastic formulas
  20. Today
  21. Not at all. The most important thing about any rod, any action, is for it to be properly matched for power to the weight of the lures you'll be casting most of the time, or centered in the range. Rods can go either up or down from the range by changing your casting style, but for ease of casting try to match it pretty well. Moderate is what is generally considered correct for cranks, but it is not "written on a rock."
  22. They did say that the times the event is held will be different. Looks like noon to 8 for the first two rounds and 10-6 for the championship.
  23. I really enjoy watching Elite Live events, but I almost never watch the weigh-in. Every now and then if I'm really bored I'll watch them weigh-in on the last day of the event, but even that is rare. Glad to see I'm not the only one who gets bored watching the weigh-in, I thought maybe I wasn't a true bass fan. LOL
  24. I haven't held one in hand, but from pictures it looks like the Antares MD is a pretty large reel! Antares A: 12lb/85yd Antares MD DC: 14lb/130yd Bantam MGL: 14lb/90yd. The Bantam is a "150" spool while the Antares is a "70". Based on line capacity, I think the MD/DC would be more like a 200/250 reel (Tranx 200 is 14lb/110yd). Should be quite a bit larger in hand
