  1. Past hour
  2. Months before it's back right. When they drop water levels fast enough to kill fish it's going to be a long time Sounds like it took the oxygen out of the water because of fast drop rates and it caused a fish kill. Find somewhere else to fish, and complain to whoever was responsible for dropping water levels.
  3. Lol that’s almost identical to the jig I was using I have now caught 3+ lb every time I’ve been out and lakes are still very cold where I’m at trick is casting a lot to same whole and being random with retrieving to get them to bite
  4. Those are all 20 and 30 sized reels compared to the 1000 sized Ultegra.
  5. I just order 9 of them from cabelas two days ago and got them today ...had all the colors except for the two clear ones
  6. The 6’6 MF would work fine. If you plan to buy a new one, I might bump it up to a 7’0-7’3 rod for better casting distance. When im throwing spooks, I’m usually bombing long casts over shallow grass flats. I throw mine on a dobyns 705cb glass.
  7. Why? Lot of us use both hands. A side benefit is you no longer have to pass on great deals because the reel isn't RH. (I should mention the Bait Monkey is a good friend of mine so I try to steer people his way. )
  8. I do it two ways; I use a VMC #00 swivel, and attach about 1 foot of leader material, or else I just put a good snap swivel directly on braid. The reason is that I'm experimenting to see whether there's any difference. I'll tell you next year. 😁 Good luck. jj
  9. Mike at Hawgtech, I’d say he did great. That said he told me he’s getting out of the anodized stuff because it’s a pain for him. PM coming
  10. On the low end of your price range, my favs are the Fenwick Aetos, St. Croix Avid X, and the G Loomis E6X. I picked up the Fenwick recently and honestly I’m partial to it right now, but I don’t think you can go wrong with any of these
  11. Wow, thanks everyone for the tips! I have most of the things everyone mentioned from surf fishing, so I will give it a go. Thanks again!
  12. Today
  13. Ohio fishing is terrible. My fav lake is down many feet and unfishable. I can't wait to be back in New England next week: the Q and Cape Lakes call to me!
  14. I use a 6'8" MF so I would use the 6'6" MF if it were me.
  15. Thanks man! I really appreciate it. Got bad news last night for the tourney. They are postponing the tourney from next weekend until June 7th and 8th (Friday and Saturday). Interesting choice in the rescheduled dates, but I know they have to work around scheduling for quite a few event locations from the rules meeting, to weigh ins, and the banquet hall. Still looking forward to the tourney, kind of bummed we don't get to chase spawners and fat pre-spawners down there for the tourney
  16. Catt- you may be a little weird, but not because of your pbj!😊You all need a life (spending all this time on this subject). I am way too busy for all this nonsense....🙄
  17. I use a 6'10" MXF same as I use for jerkbait fishing.
  18. Many thx Toxic and Ronnieh -- I have not looked at "Fishers of men" but I will -- Thx for the heads up on that Toxic -- Yes, I feel your pain Ronnieh -- I would think it would be a relatively easy thing to find a brother in the Lord to go wet a line with but alas it isn't -- Alabama is a bit of a drive for me !! --
  19. I like PB&J sandwiches, had one for lunch yesterday and today. I do not like the two stirred together, my wife has always done that for the kids and grandkids, and tried it a couple of times on me. Totally changes the flavor. I like to be able to taste the peanut butter and the jelly, not what you get when you blend the two together and the ratio has to be just right. not too much or too little of either one. I agree with the Smuckers Concord Grape, that's the only one I use on mine. Peanut butter on one slice, jelly on the other. However, you think what you do is weird, ain't nothing compared to mine. I also like to put a banana in mine. Of course I also eat a banana sandwich peanut butter and mayo, those are good also. I also make peanut butter and Grape jelly saltine crackers sometimes for a TV snack.
  20. What in your opinion what are the most have square bill, and deep crank colors?
  21. I remember Ike at a major tourney dinged the end of a pontoon pitching to it and on the very next cast caught a monster.
  22. If you want finesse and can fish the edge of the docks without having to skip, it’s hard to beat an old fashioned Original Rapala. I know they are out of vogue right now but the bass don’t know that.
  23. During the classic Ott Defoe was banging the heck out of a dock . He hit like three times in succession .
  24. Your question/scenario isn’t reality where I live. Just using actual published statistics from DNR surveys done right here on my local reservoir. Surveyed and creel checked anglers for 6 months, both boat and bank anglers. C&R guys caught and released over 9,000 bass. Meat eaters harvested 187. That means unless you’re mortality rate, both immediate and delayed, isn’t under 2%, the C&R bass guys, including tournies, are killing more bass on my home lake than the guys who catch and keep. You’re numbers up there might be different.
  25. Casting for me. Because unlike spinning where you have a pendulum-like weight of the spool swinging below the rod on every twitch, with casting, I can be more precise with "walking-the-dog" and do tighter/cleaner twitches.
