  2. Paid for rod July 9th and still no tracking or reply to text messages?????????
  3. Good on them for releasing it. Don't see those barn doors very often anymore.
  4. I caught a world record brown bullhead when I was a teenager but just thought it was a funny shaped flathead and turned it loose. It was an ounce shy of 8 pounds, didn't even take a picture of it because that's a baby for a flathead. Wouldn't have been that big of deal since it was just a bullhead but it still would have been kind of cool.
  5. Hi there I'm Eric Baldin and I recently made an article on which hand to use to reel in while using a baitcaster. If anyone is interested it breaks down pros and cons, and has a video with Todd Wodds if you prefer a visual. https://hikingtentcamping.tk/left-vs-right-hand-fishing-reel/
  6. Melvern has a good population of smallmouth, and the population is getting better at Clinton. There's a bunch of them in Wabaunsee but that's probably getting to be not much closer than just driving to Table Rock for you. It does have huge smallies and largemouth both though.
  7. I've got Tat SV and Zillion SV, best skipping reels I've ever owned and it's not even close.
  8. Yep, the 50 and 70 sized Shimano baitcasters are too small and uncomfortable in my hands. Abu Revos are uncomfortable in my hands. I've had rods that pushed or rubbed on spots on my fingers or hands that made me get rid of them. I also dislike cork because it dries my hands out terribly bad for some reason.
  9. 1) sarah brightman #1 2)4 3)view them shorty as live in Vegas
  10. Nailed that... I can't stand dropping a line over the side of the boat and sitting there, jigging or drop-shotting, or trolling, or chucking huge baits... There's nothing wrong with any of those things, but I can't do them and have fun.
  11. I've got the 3.75" Baby Bull Shad in bone color, it swims really nice. The smallmouth and white bass love it.
  12. I use the 3.8 and 4.8 sizes all the time on a 3/8oz bladed jig.
  13. If you can catch the bass you want using shorter cast it does improve your strike to putting bass in the boat ratio. The fact is anyone can catch bass on short cast but it takes skill to detect strike making long cast and even more skill getting good hook sets and putting the big bass in the boat. It's dilemma making a long cast and not for everyone. If I didn't develop strike detection and hook set skills to catch big bass on long cast none of my top 5 bass would have been possible. Tom
  14. Agreed and it really sucks. We have already lost too many because the small fishing and other retailers don’t have the buying power of the big stores.
  15. I like your survival kit here. What conditions determine whether you opt in for a slider vs a wacky or say a shakey vs mushroom style presentation etc etc when you initially approach a pond?
  16. Today
  17. Why do shipments go by car, and cargo goes by boat?
  18. Why do you all commit on rods you know nothing about? Tell me what the op means by reaction vs bottom contact lures? Buzz baits, spinnerbaits, crankbaits; square bills, lipless, deep divers, swim jigs and Scroungers, top water, jerk baits, structure spoons, frogs...? Tom
  19. I've bought most of my new rods through Amazon, but I make sure that the fulfiller is a reputable company. The one's that are fulfilled by Evike are in thick tubes with bubble-wrap around the entire rod.
  20. It's going to get used on my johnboat as a phone charger/power source, kayak to run my Virb, and towards the end of next month on a camping trip to power electronics for our kids while we're in the tent. My sons think it's really neat because of the bright lights on front of it.
  21. I have the Core 101 and the Curado DC. If I were to choose on the reels, I would consider what I was using it for.... the Core for weightless softplastic or light T-rigged lures and the DC for crank baits and maybe jerkbaits. As far as the gears go, after doing some digging I would say no and its probably not worth it. When I looked at the schematics you would need, at a guess, the gear, yoke, clutch bearing, and pinion gear (all different parts from the standard 6.x DC) and then I can't say if they will all fit or work.
  22. It will put small businesses out of business
  23. I have just recently purchased a Lifetime Tamarack 10 foot kayak and I have found after an hour of fishing, the seat became extremely uncomfortable. I Was wondering if anyone would recommend a new seat that is also raised and comfortable. My price range is around $50.
  24. I've been lucky with the few rods I've had shipped from Dick's. They all made it ok but man is there method of shipping rods sketchy. I cringe every time I open one from them. The Falcon Lowrider I got last week didn't even have any packing of any kind. Just a rod loose in that same flimsy box like the pics above.
