  2. I am looking at selling my reel collection and before I went about doing it I was hoping to garner some info from the experienced people here. I am looking at the prices I should set for these reels, in new condition. All have boxes except the b series curados. What are they worth to the masses? shimano Curado 71 hg Shimano chronarch Mgl 151 hg shimano b series curado 201 6 ratio shimano Calcutta d 201
  3. Now I’ll be able to sleep tonight. I’ve often wondered how much wood a wood chuck could chuck if he could chuck it .🧐
  4. I'm experimenting, but I'm wondering if color matters for a popper, especially anywhere besides the bottom. I'm gonna make a few, some really weird, and see if it matters. I see fish miss them sometimes so I wonder if they see something they don't like at the last moment or are simply bad aim. As for crank baits, I've caught every fish out of a local lake with cranks, and I only throw them there because nothing else has worked. One of my go-to baits is a white fluke, but now I have another - cranks.
  5. My brother always ties his wacky rigs with 4-6 inches of line hanging below the hook. He uses it un-weighted until he wants to fish deeper water then ads a split shot. Interestingly he will make a knot to hold the shot from sliding unless he is in rocky bottom areas. He always outfishes me.
  6. Thanks for the replies everyone - I have made a few choice from these replies and will purchase these brands.
  7. I have been using the smallest wire ties as flyfisher above. I find them at the dollar store. Place the connection above the hook so as not to catch weeds. I pull ties tight with a pliers. The wire tie method seems very good but,I like the price on the wire ties.
  8. ... all just variations on a theme. More conveniently grouped together and referred to as jig worm fishing. oe
  9. Casts fine, I don't recognize an advantage or disadvantage compared to other reels. But they are not all set up the same either. Certainly not substantially less than any other setup.
  10. I checked all my baits and only had one on backwards .
  11. I have heard great things about Watkins mill near Lawson. Supposed to have a healthy population of quality bass. Have not fished it personally, but planning on a trip this fall. Smithville is not bad, but it can be tough from shore. Some days it is tough from a boat.
  12. the race will go off late as most of the race card and also other tracks canceled because of high temps and heat. Haskell will run about 8pm east time zone
  13. In the Hmg line they have a M 7'2" modfast rod rated 3/8-1oz.
  14. It's just as JigMan says the person using it is the one who cares. I do powder paint mine because lead can lose it's sheen and collect some powder(A type of corrosion?) in the tackle bag. I have on more than one occasion wish I had a certain color but,not too often.Like when someone is catching fish and I'm not!Jimmyjigs
  15. I might pick one up now that I've seen this sale, would the 7'3" Medium/Moderate be a solid all around cranking rod (liplesses and medium divers, nothing down past 10 ft)? I am currently using a 7 ft M/M vendetta and I just really don't like that rod and also it's a bit too whippy for me. I wish the lunker stik was a Moderate Fast
  16. Hello, so finally have the time to fish more. After 12 years in the service, battling my own brain for the past few years, I am now starting hobbies to help me get better, motorcycles have done that and now I am starting to fish again. Still looking for a small boat to get off the shoreline, if you know of a fishing spot near Kansas City, Mo I would love to hear about it. Smithville Lake is only 5 mins from the house so I normally go there. Anyway, hope to get some great information and maybe a friend or two who knows. have a great day.
  17. I'm with you on that one I don't know how I forgot to mention Impulse as one of my suggestions earlier. I have a couple of his rods, they're great. The owner was recently diagnosed with cancer, and he made a special run of rods to raise funds for his medical costs. They're only $170 (originally $230) and I'd argue that the blank is on par with IMX. Good cause and great price
  18. Lightening Rod Shocks or house brands at BPS/Cabelas/Acafemy should get you what you need. Academy has some solid baitcasters in the range you're looking for. They're not going to be Chronarchs, but they'll get it done. You could also check the *cough* site sponsor *cough* Kastking stuff, although i think the Academy stuff will be as good or better.
  19. Tatula SV all day. You don't need to go any higher end than that reel, it is an amazing skipping reel and multi-purpose reel. I have it on a 6'9" MH/F Kistler Mag 2 and I use it to skip and do pretty much anything that isn't in extremely heavy cover.
  20. No, that's just proof lefties are oppressed people. We never consider them. Lol
  21. Today
  22. I carry 200+ dollar setups in my yak...same stuff gets used while walking the banks.
  23. That looks very very painful, I’ll pass.
  24. Hello and Welcome to Bass Resources ~ Now that's an interesting first post. Simply put ~ No way. A-Jay
