  1. Past hour
  2. Bend the wire in a U shape with the ends facing upward. [/url Grab the two ends with the plyers and engage the lock. Slowly pull up to tighten the wire but be careful not to; break the wire, cut the strands, or bunch up all the skirt material. This takes some practice but within a few skirts you will master the amount of pressure needed.
  3. FWIW, all of the fish we call "bass", are black bass. There's 9 different species of black bass in North America.
  4. Place the jig in the vice as such, make sure the strands are separated by front/rear of the collar. Next I cut about a 3" section of wire and even though it is longer than needed it just makes things easier.
  5. I fished Cunningham for about an hour this evening down at the fishing pier. Tons of lily pads but I didn't see even bait fish let alone bass. I brought only my MH rod with 30 pound braid today so I didn't fish deep in the lily pads. I'll bring a heavy rod with 50 or 60 pound braid next time and fish a frog or punch a jig. I talked to a teenage kid there and he said all he has caught is one and two pounders, but he could be a lousy angler. In the next few weeks I'm going to try Lake Robinson and rent a kayak for the day.
  6. Just to follow up I sent the reel back to Shimano. They replaced the main and pinion and it is now smooth as silk. Will see how long it lasts this winter during steel head season.

  9. Tools I use; suction cup vise (Harbor Freight $15), Twisting pliers (Harbor Freight $8), and 22 gauge craft wire that can be purchased at any art supply store like Hobby Lobby, Michael's, AC Moore, etc. You can use other gauges but overall 22 gauge is the best IMO as it does not cut the strands and is flexible enough to hold in place. More to follow once my pics actually upload. Allen
  10. Got a relative in his 30s that rarely works , and he is excellent at tile and flooring. Just lays around and doesn’t do much of anything all day. They get some kind of gov. check. He doesn’t seem to care. I would be bored to death if I did that.
  11. It's not the rod, reel or line. My guess is the rod maybe too fast for the casting motion being used or the OP isn't skilled using bait casting reels. Start by using a heavier weight around 5/8 oz like a casting plug and learn how to cast it 30 to 40 yards before trying lighter weights. Start at the beginning by setting the spool tension and brakes properly. Tom
  12. Picked up a few wood baits. From top, Old School wake bait, Catching Concepts SC1, PH Customs Lil Hunter, Barron Customs BC-1.
  13. k so i tried my usual day time tackle jig and spinner and got skrunk last night. my friend using worm with texas rig got 5 baby bass. the wind last night was rough around 20mph. ima give it another try with my usual tackle mybe add some scent to it next week when the weather get better.
  14. Bringing this back for an update. The version 2 E6x rods are fantastic. Newer smaller lighter guides, better balanced, and lighter overall. the MBR in the series are killer.
  15. Dont over think it. Just go. You definitely won’t catch any if you stay home. If you live somewhere like where I do ( high 90s this week ) The morning after a nice rain is usually a good time to fish in the summer.
  16. I love that rod mentioned. Used it tonight with an older citica and 30lb braid to throw an 1/8oz bullet weight Texas rigged pit boss. I was making short casts and pitches and occasionally launching it out 30 yards or so, I have no issue. Got my limit too 😎
  17. i know i got the 6'10'' mh original one i love it
  18. They made a 7'1" MH X-fast rod in the original tatula line. I've got one and it's a sweet rod.
  19. My guess is that YOU are the one responsible for the lack of action. How many days in a row can you fish the same spot before you catch all the fish that were willing to bite? Give the pond a rest for a few days to a week.
  20. Eyes always come off on my sleepers - the cheap ones for $3 and real ones for $7. Doesn't make a difference to me it seems. My best lure is an Spro Aruku Shad with 1 eye - I think I have caught over 200 fish on it.
  21. TUBES!!!!! Or jerkbaits. I fish the Mississippi quite a bit and tubes are really hard to beat. Make sure you always have bottom contact and toss them behind current breaks, eddys, and current seams and you will find fish.
  22. Sleeper has been slaying them for me the past 6 outings eyes fell off after about 8 fish the first outing. So no eyes doesnt seem to be an issue with its fish attracting abilities. The hooks arent the sharpest had to touch up a few points a bit myself on a few.
