  2. I fished Honeyoe for the first time in May in a LONG time Weds. afternoon/evening. I did OK for hardly ever going there. Caught a bunch of the typical dinks that lake is known for. Caught my new PB for that lake at 4-8, and had 14+ lbs for my best five. One of the reasons I went there is I held an MLF format tournament on Silver yesterday, and put an off-limits period during the week, with one official practice day of Saturday the 18th....the day before the event. SO it was a full calendar week since I had been on Silver (very rare for me LOL) by the time I went on Sat. to practice. I had a great practice. 20+ lbs for my best 5, and caught fish non-stop all day. That brings us to Sunday and the MLF event. I invited 23 of the best AND/or most trustworthy (this event was a solo angler event, and everyone was on their honor to not abuse and the numbers on Scoretracker Live) local anglers to participate, hoping 5-8 would come as to not overwhelm and overcrowd the lake for the first time I tried this. 6 showed up, and they were all top notch local sticks. As for the tournament....As usual Silver did a 180 overnight. Largemouth that I caught during practice were SLOW all day...but brown fish saved the day. I ended up winning the event with 16 bass caught for a total of 52 lbs. I averaged 3lbs 4oz. per fish, and also had Lunker with a 4-13 (one of only 4 largemouth I weighed) Everything else was cookie cutter 3+ lb smallies. I LOVE this format...watching me take the lead, then losing it several times during the day via Scoretracker live was fun and nerve-racking. I give huge props to the guys who came, a couple of them didn't catch them very well and watched the rest of us run the score up, yet they stayed and fished hard till the end. This is the future of my tournaments...I only hope I can be calm, cool, and collected when I am on the receiving end of a beatdown that I can watch unfold on Scoretracker......which WILL happen (me getting my teeth kicked in....who knows about staying calm LOL)
  3. Hunker down, today is going to be rough.
  4. 45. It's essentially baking the steak then searing it
  5. Not the 5's and 6's some guys are showing but finally getting some river action. Caught 9 the other day with this one being the best. Also, some decent white bass action. They're lots of fun.
  6. Sorry these are right handed. 6.3 sold pending funds
  7. I like owner hooks for drop shot they make a couple that work well I buy them In 1/0 I think the size 1 is too small
  8. Casting. Sorry. Just took a look at those and they seem like they would be really good. Thanks for the heads up.
  9. Today
  10. I started using Sims fingerless. They have open palms so you don't even notice them. As I get older I can see the need of keeping sun off of me as much as possible. Also, if the weather isn't too hot I've found that cheap arthritis gloves like Copper Fit knockoffs are great for grip and giving my thumb arthritis a break.
  11. I have a Shimano Cardiff 300A reel for sale. The reel is in mint condition and I would rate it a 10/10 cosmetically and mechanically. It was purchased at Bass Pro Shops about 5 months ago. I took it back to exchange it for a Tranx (prefer low profile reels), but it was outside of the return policy. The price is $75.00
  12. Well... I personal opinion is like most electronics outside of traditional, they are nice but not necessary. Livescope is the very best thing I have used to let me know what is truely Below the boat. It's not perfect and in time, I am sure it will be better, and cheaper. Here is a quick vodeo of me using it with my wife on night. We had so much fun. I have used it for bass, blugill, and catfish. Still working on it to give a solid review https://www.instagram.com/p/BxCacPnFN1k/?igshid=1bpflocsb4csq
  13. I was having fun catching dinks the other day. It’s been over a month now that I only carry UL tackle target small fish. Compare to this time last year, I started throwing Magnum Fluke target those 3-5lbs bass.
  14. Shimano G. Loomis Conquest MBR 😉
  15. Go with what you know is comfortable. When you’re pitching though, there really is going to be anything in nature that’s going to get in the way of a pitching cast. I am curious and would like to ask what in the mechanics is feeling uncomfortable. Height shouldn’t be an issue since I’m 5’5” and pitch both 7’ spinning and casting rods. If it is a feel thing, I understand. A 7’ rod definitely doesn’t feel like a 6’ or 6’6” light saber of a rod. I am also a shorebound angler.
  16. First, I want to say thanks to everyone who helped me. I found out that the adapter did not have a stop in it as I initially thought. I found this out when I inserted a clean piece of pipe through the adapter and it shocked me that it went through! Then I went back to the pipe in the wall and wondered why it wouldn’t go through it. Well, closer inspection of the pipe showed that there was an ever so slim layer of solder barely visible and that was enough to prevent the adapter from sliding through completely. Fortunately, the pipe extending from the wall was exactly 3.5” and according the installation instructions, that was the max length. This meant that I didn’t have to cut the pipe. I was relieved. I marked the spot on the spout pipe and then applied flux to the appropriate places. Then inserted the adapter and lit the torch. It took me three tries. The first two times was frustrating because I didn’t know why the solder was not flowing in but instead just getting soft when touching the pipe and then breaking off. To make a long story short, I realized it simply was not hot enough. The third time is the charm. It was cool watching the solder melting fully and get sucked in, as if it were magic. I managed to save $$ on a plumber in exchange for learning a new skill. It might be more accurate to say I diverted that money to feeding the tool monkey vs. saving $$, lol.
  17. I fish from the bank as well and have a 6ft spinning rod and a 7'3 casting rod. I would say use whats comfortable for you and what fits where you fish (overhead trees, etc).
  18. i am willing to buy that truck for my work I will use that for 24-hour Roadside Assistance, have anyone have this truck if so let me know should change my mind or go for this?
  19. I fish mostly park ponds here in so cali, none of my rods are under 7'. Flippin stick is 7'6" I find longer rods are easier to fish vs shorter rods, which I've used years ago. Whatever you feel comfy with, use it.
  20. I.ve read where some guys use a glass bead (i.e. 6 or 6mm ?) in front of a toad ? I suppose this is to keep weeds or scum off the front or for some other reason ?
  21. I'll tough it out as long as I can to catch Quality bass, however, I've been known to give in after several hours and go to light line and small lures. I hate days like that..
  22. Any body have experience with these high end rods looking purchase one. kistler z bone, g loomis nrx or conquest, megasbass destroyer, also is there any jdm rods out there that any one could mention and also is there any way to purchase those rods at a discounted price or used
  23. How is the stretch on Tasu? I thought I read once that it has more stretch than most fluoro lines.
  24. Seaguar Finesse Fluoro is basically Tatsu and fishes excellent on spinning gear. Would be worth checking out as well. It's even on sale right now on TW.
