  1. Past hour
  2. just found a youtube video on it, it controls tension on the shifter
  3. I have that rod. I mainly throw my chatterbaits on it. It's sooo good. Great for squarebills, traps and med-diving cranks as well. You can call them and they'll put your order in over the phone. You'll get it a tad later than usualy but at least you'll still get the deal.
  4. A medium heavy moderate fast rod can do just about anything. Never used an Okuma rod but academically you are in the strike zone. Own the Bucoo SR medium heavy and yeah, an excellent, excellent rod for the $. Close to a medium power though.
  5. I'm in east central Indiana, I work the bottom but many big ones have come on the initial fall. This year I've been using mostly bitsy bug jigs with a craw trailer or a bullet weight texas rig. Sometimes I drag or reel slow across bottom or I'll lift it and drop on semi slack as the current takes it down stream. I'll catch them bank or mid-stream this way. I don't think it matters top or bottom as long as you can get your preferred bait in their face. I like jigs and t rigs because I can get down in the laydowns when they're holding tight and draw them out.
  6. you can drop a player for player. You don't have to drop prior to making an add.
  7. Yeah, same here, guys. Except I'm not an old timer. Most of my rods are 6'6". A few are 7' because it was necessary and couldn't be found shorter. Fishing a 7'+ rod feels very awkward for me and I stand 6' tall. I describe it as a 3rd grader trying to grip and throw an NFL sized football. It just feels bad. I don't know why. Everyone is different. 6'6"-6'10" rods have never been a problem for any technique I've ever fished. Some say that you need a long rod for this or that. Baloney. I don't fish big swimbaits and I could see needing a long rod for that, but that's it.

    Tariffs

Tariffs apply to 1 country regarding fishing tackle....China. The fishing industry has been sending fishing rod manufacturing to China for decades and it's evolved from a cottage industry to a higher production industry. Tariffs directly apply to products made in China and shipped to the USA, no surprise. Tom
  9. Too many variables. There is no typical answer. It's different every time.
  10. one thing that is worth noting is that the current generation IMX Pro rods are available in the MBR 903 and SJR902 tapers (ie 7'6 rods) that I do not believe the GLX's are. if you like the extra length the IMX Pros have that option. The GLX MBR and SJR rods top out at 7 feet. Once i started using the 7'6 rods i fell in love.
  11. I bought 2 loomis imx's pfd a buddy whom was looking for money. Sure enough I hate the way they feel in my hand. Great handling sticks and very sensitive. Just can't get used to them.
  12. Way2Slow is an expert on OMC OB's and will get back to you. The old OB's lean/rich was a slight mechanical adjustment to optimize fuel mixture on 1 carburator, your engine has multiple carbs and a knob would be electrical not mechanical if located away from the engine. Tom
  13. Today
  14. Joe, I’ve built on several MHX blanks, and all have had the right feel for their power ratings. To my hands, at least. Have no experience with the shooter blanks.
  15. Well thanks I guess .... LOL I may buy the GLX and see how it feels. I don't think I would lose much selling it if I don't like it. I could buy one of each and see which one I end up with. If I am fishing bottom baits I pretty much use only spinning equipment so the reel seat is a big deal to me.
  16. The bass fishing industry wants bass fishermen to continue buying lures and whatever else professional tournament bass fishermen recommend people to buy. It is to their best interest that people buy lots of lures and other fishing tackle related to lure fishing. There is little to money to be made if people catch their own bait compared to buying lures. With that said I feel it is easier to catch a 5 bass limit on lures than only using live bait. You can fish lures in more varied conditions compared to live bait. I caught 149 bass in less than 6 hours of fishing from the bank, all on lures. Lost count of +50 bass days all on lures. I doubt I can do that with live bait since I will be limited by how much bait I have. You can easily catch +50 bass on the same jerkbait, the same cannot be said for 1 live shiner.
  17. He’s not wrong, the best thing you can do is experiment and see what the fish like. If throwing it slow isn’t working then speed up and vice versa.
  18. I have a few Loomis rods across their lineup and you made a fine choice. The IMX Pro is a nice step up from the prior generation IMX, and it's more important to have a quality rod you're comfortable fishing with (IMX) than a little higher quality rod you're uncomfortable fishing with (GLX).
  19. It's all getting ridiculous. I understand how business works and I get to an extent we have no control over it. I am also big on principles. I am a firm believer no other senko style bait works as good as the senko itself. Used to buy a ton. Then they jacked the prices up pretty much everywhere by like 2 bucks a bag. Haven't bought a pack since. Foolish....maybe. have done well with my 3 dollar a bag dingers. I can afford to fish nice gear but I ALWAYS try to bargain shop and buy stuff I use on sale. If I fished enigma and I recieved that email I probably would never purchase anything from them again. Price increases are universal but 30 percent seems quite excessive. As usual tho just my personal opinion
  20. I vary retrieve type and times, sometimes on the same cast, until I find what, if anything, works. I'll start with a couple of turns of the reel handle per second and that equates to approximately 60in. or 5ft. 150ft=30 seconds. Dragging is a whole different ballgame as I'll often dead stick somewhere during the retrieve.
  21. So is my knob just there and not hooked up? My motor is a 1986 evinrude that has a starter is not a pull start. I looked at a on line owners manual and it doesn't talk about it it is a v4 two stroke eng
  22. Mine is coming to an end in a week. Time to work for all the time I get to play 😡
  23. I am so incredibly happy to have land my first Spanish mackerel. I can check this fish off my bucket list. Such a beautiful fish. I hooked into a monster albie! In a non conventional way. A live blue fish. I almost got spooled. I had 2 other hard hits on live blues. I also had a needle fish hit. Landed a schoolie and a Black Sea bass!
  24. early pre 70's 2 cylinder OB's used a carburator adjustment knob 1/4 turn lean or rich, those engines you pull started no on/off switch. Tom
