  1. Past hour
  2. Not yet. These have all been on ledges. They should be moving into brushpiels soon though.
  3. If there is monsters in there glides and huds
  4. Small Rage swimmers got a great thump. I rig it t rigged and peg the sinker.
  5. Is it so hard to believe that some people are more comfortable and better with casting gear than spinning gear? No point in arguing about someone else’s preferences.
  6. Today I was using my Lew’s Mach Speed Stick Ned Rig 6’7” medium light spinning rod model#MHNRR With a size 100 spinning reel 6 Lb. Sufix Promix mono I pulled in my biggest LMB of the year and my PB Brook Trout slow rolling a shroomz jighead and a green pumpkin TRD. Ned Rig is versatile. I love it on spring gear on calm waters and lighter jighead. Heavier jigheads and baitcasters in rivers and current.
  7. Yesterday
  8. Lews orange crush spinning reel 8 lb flouro and a 7 ft 6 carbon light rod. Works great for Ned’s.Use spinning rods more and more al the time.
  9. That bass is really skinny. I agree with the 4lb range.
  10. Nothing about that fish says spotted bass. I once posted a smallmouth to Facebook and someone said, "wow, that's a big rock bass." People are ridiculous.
  11. Don’t forget the weather. Overcast and wind usually makes them move around more and not be as stuck to a certain thing or things. Spinnerbait/chatterbait/swim jig are without question the starting pitchers when clouds and wind are present.
  12. I prefer a rod of a little longer length. I have many from 5.5 to 7.0. Maybe a two piece rod would work in your particular situation.
  13. I was at 6 mile yesterday concentrating on outside creek bend in 18 to 20 foot. Not a thing. Are you seeing most fish on brush piles only?
  14. these type of discussions come up on a lot of different forums. It all comes down to what a person is comfortable using. personally I use spinning gear for most baits under 1/4 ounce. Anything above that gets a casting setup. Been doing this for 40 years. I have never heard a valid argument to change my mind. this reminds me of a local hunting forum that constantly has the AR15/ 223 argument for harvesting deer. Will it work? Yes, but why when there are better tools for the job.
  15. My initial guess is that it is a Lee Sisson bait based on the black belly stripes. I know I have seen this paint pattern before I just can't remember where? Since I do not fish many balsa baits I do not keep up with what is on the market. Allen
  16. I had a feeling it was a Largemouth, just wanted to double check.
  17. i don't fish ultralight from the bank when lily pads surround the pond ... go to a short rod 5'6"or 5'10" at least ... med. action sometimes med. heavy ... good fishing ...
  18. The fools on Fishbrain told him so... For those that don’t know, it’s an app. Free or pay to play it’s like Facebook for fishing with perks if you pay.
  19. Largemouth.what makes you think it's a Spotted bass? Tom
  20. I would guess it is a custom. It has a lot of paint remaining on the hook hangers and the line tie point. When magnified it also has the look of a brushed on an epoxy clear coat. The CB lip is also interesting.
  21. A few years back I fished Amistad with some friends. We spent a little over a week in Del Rio. He had a home on the lake back then, and we would often see him around town. Nearly every morning he would beat us to the ramp and when we were through for the day his rig was still in the lot. That guy puts some serious time on the water.
  22. Senkos, flukes, tubes basically any bottom contact bait. I try them all.
  23. That'll work. Those Eagle Claw EWG have served me well, I've been through a ton of them. They do what I need them to do. I'm not going to pay more for something I can't see. I've tried quite a few brands and I've never noticed any major difference that's worth paying for. Ignorance is bliss, I guess.
  24. Yesthey are sucks this lake is 3 hrs away!
  25. Like I said originally it depends on where you believe the fulcrum is. If it is a matter of fact, then please support it. Sorry OP, we are off topic in your thread. My last reply on this subject.
