  4. 9yr old Zombie thread comes back to life from a disgruntled dock owner🤣🤣 FWIW Barbi I never fish a dock with homeowner on it😉
  5. I imagine you may be in for a surprise from your club soon 🤣🤣
  6. I'm really planning on sticking to 168 s-wavers and others in that 2oz and under range. If/when I decide to go bigger I'll get a swimbait rod. Separate question but related. Can I get away with my curado k throwing s-wavers? (More of a line capacity issue I guess)
  7. I tend to agree with both of you. Thinking back, most of the members had some idea of other members favorite water. I remember asking a guy on a two day club tournament, who I fished with on the first day, if I could could suggest that spot to my second day boater. He said OK, just let him have a crack at it first. I thought that was cool and it avoided friction.
  8. I don't see an issue - I use the GPS/Google Map function in my phone to locate catches. Over time, you can build up a profile of 'this time of year, the bass are here'. This can do nothing but help your fishing and you don't have to share them.
  9. Bass anglers can be a secretive bunch thinking "their" honey hole belongs to them. In reality there are very few secrets in bass fishing or locations that aren't known. If your boater doesn't give you access to the console unit to watch then use your IPhone or other hand held GPS to mark way points. Some anglers don't share the time of day but those are the same anglers who want to know everything everyone else is doing. Tom
  10. Today

  12. That's one of my favorites too...but now I gotta ask...4, almost 5 months after your post, and with Memorial Day sales going on right now, how much gear do you have now?! 👍
  13. Would like your thoughts on the ethics of a back seater using a handheld GPS to help log catches. Years ago when I fished with a local club I would try to figure out where we were on the water when I was catching fish, then when I got home I would try to find those spots on a lake map and mark it. I would also fill out a paper log and keep them in a binder. I was never sure if the spot on the map was really accurate. Some of those lakes were very large and I didn't fish them all that often. So I had the idea of getting a GPS and marking my catches with a waypoint. I posed this idea to members of my club and also online and the majority of the answers were in the negative. The main reason being that they worked too hard to find these spots and didn't want them given up, which on the whole I tend to agree with. I couldn't get them to understand that I was going to be logging catches and not stealing their spots. Personally I would never give up a spot without asking the person first. any thoughts would be appreciated.

    Bait Help

I would have, but the baits weren't coming back in one piece. Many missing claws and some disappeared completely.
  18. 30 lb power pro to 15 lb big Game leader. It ain't perfect, but as close as I've found.
  19. It's kind of hard to see but I lost a lure to this fish then caught the fish again and got my lure back.
  20. In seasons past I've used various brands of 17 or 20 lb mono. This year I'm trying 14 Yo-zuri co-poly on my primary spinner bait rig and I can't complain about the line.
  21. My current favorite rod for throwing my home made jika rigs in the half ounce range is a 7'2" Fenwick AETOS - MH - ex fast tip. Occasionally I will throw this rig kinda far (half the spool on a Chronarch 50) and I've successfully felt hits and set the hook with this rod on multiple occasions. I've found this rod light enough and stout enough and a Chronarch 50 blanches on it well.

  24. Bite before the storm. 37 bass in 3 hours. Biggest 5 were roughly 14-15lb bag. 5 minutes after we go off the lake the skies opened up and it poured.
