  2. Anyone come up with a decent rubber, or poly rod tie down that doesn't pull apart after 6 months? I don't have room for fancy retractable strap arrangements. I had two really good rubber types for years and last winter the mice invaded my boat (outdoor storage) and ate through them and I had them for so many years I cannot remember where the heck I bought them. In looking around it appears they are all poly now and pull apart in short order.
  3. Please remember the price paid for this holiday weekend.
  4. I can't believe I am doing this but I am listing my two brand new (still have plastic wrap on the cork) Megabass Generation 1 Orochi XX Diablo Spec-R AND Spinnerbait Special. They come with the Megabass rod sleeves with the tags still attached. They have been sitting in the cardboard rod tubes they arrived in. I want to sell them as a package deal only at this point but of shipping costs and properly insuring them. $450 shipped and insured to your door. Money order or check preferred. Thanks and best wishes on the water.
  5. Let me know when you're healed and can get back out there. Would love to check out Lake Seneca and Piney run with someone who has been there. My email is cgiroux86@gmail.com Sounds great man! Not sure what your plans are for the Holiday weekend, but I was thinking about going out tomorrow, Monday or maybe both. I will shoot you a text later on today once I figure out what I'm doing. Chris
  6. Firstly I know what most of the posts in this thread will say. I am looking for people who have actually handled and/or used both reels. I'm using this reel for shakey head and weighted ribbontail worms. I also do not factor where a reel was made i.e self production vs Doyo outsourcing. With that said which one do you prefer and why did you pick one over the other?
  7. Hi, guys. I had to create a new account here because the twitter account I previously used is no longer active. I have asked questions about NEPA here in the past, but I am looking specifically for info about Lehigh Gorge State Park. I am about 30 minutes away and have never been there, despite smallmouth being my favorite fish to target. Most of the time I have my 7 year old daughter fishing with me, so our fishing spots are dictated by that. I really wanna try LGSP today for some smallmouth, but I am clueless on where to go. If anyone could give me some tips on access points it would be immensely appreciated. thanks
  8. We fished Wednesday, Thursday and part of Friday. We had roughly 80 keepers but only 20 were kept. We threw back a number of fish that had bloody looking rashes on their bodies. This is the first time we have fished this late in the year so we didn't know if this something that usually happens as the water warms up or not. I also saw the airboat sitting on the trailer spraying the water around the Six Mile Creek launch yesterday afternoon.
  9. Hey Chris, I just moved to the area in March, left my bass tracker behind in NJ. Used to go after the small mouth up there but I’d love to target some of Maryland’s bass. Have a car and could tow, also happy to split gas. Feel free to to shoot me a text or give me a call 862.703.6498 -Jon
  10. I grew up in Geneva, nice area, and did spend a lot of time racing RC cars down in Illinois. I do love N WI, but that might not be till the retirement years.
  11. Thanks for all your help ! It is a Lew's Tournament TS1HL Speed Spool Should have occurred to me that the spring was to activate the brake and then retract it Many Thanks again
  12. Would like to see something done about bottles and cans here out east....lakes are loaded with the floaters in the backs of coves and show up really well before the leaves and green cover it all up threw the summer. I carry a garbage bag but it only makes a tiny dent.... I have idea's but they wouldn't be politically correct today....

  14. I use a Pixy 68 on a Kistler ML/F and it tosses nearly spools out.
  15. I had a pair of Oil Rigs that fogged up if you just looked at them. They turned me off on Oakley for a long time. Then I tried the Gascan and loved them. Now I use the Batwolf and they are by far the best glasses I've used but my 2 year old got a hold of them and not they are missing an arm. I was looking at Costa because of all the rave reviews they have and because their lenses have glass in them and are thicker than Oakley. But I don't wanna have to deal with fogging and the new Shallow Water Prizm lenses are amazing.
  16. Your HXF got your frogging "needs" covered. I'd go with a 6'9-7'0 ML-F or ML-XF to dropshot/nedrigs and a MH-Mod or M-Mod for cranking duties. I don't dropshot much but I use the nedrig a lot. That being said, I mostly fish for smallies as there are no largies close to home.
  17. It has started 15% off plus an extra 10% for military it is over on Tuesday This is for 2019.
  18. I switched to Costas 2 years ago after 10+ years with 3-4 different Oakley’s. Despite the fogging issue (and I had some of that with Oakley’s as well) I like the Costas overall far better. Lenses are superior to me. The fogging seems to do more with how fully any particular frame wraps, hence less air flow. The frames I wear wrap a lot because I don’t tolerate side glare well on the water. That’s my interest though - are the wrap-style Costas with vents to see if I can find best of both worlds.

  20. Thank you for your help. Do you reccomend the Dobyns rods with the slx reels? Do they balance well? I'm in Howard County, I live right across from Rocky Gorge Reservoir. I'm looking to make some fishing friends if you're interested in going out sometime. I recently got a 1542 Jon boat that the 2 of us both can comfortably fish from. Seems like we could learn together since we are both relatively new. This is what I was looking for. I know I need technique specific rods at this point as I have a variety of versatile rods. If you were me, what would you prioritize if you could add 2-3 setups? I'm thinking a cranking rod and a ML spinning rod or a 7'3 H for frogging. I dont use spinning gear often and have a M spinning rig already, but also have a 7'5Hxf that I can use for flipping and frogging. I want to add stuff that will get more use, which is probably why I bought a lot of versatile rods to begin with. I really appreciate you taking the time to help a newbie out!
  21. 10# Berkley Big Game on a Lew’s Mach 1 reel, 6’, 10” med/hvy Mach 1 rod, 1/8 oz. Berkley half head jig. Works great.

    New pb

It’s a pickerel covered in dirt. I didn’t want to rinse it and try for another pick.
  23. I have 1 bc setup for Ned rig fishing. It is a Shimano Curado 70 loaded with 6 # fluorocarbon line mounted on a Gloomis Bronzeback 6'9" ml rod. I make my own heads and use 3/32 oz and heavier heads on it.
