  2. If you’ve never done this solo mission, a weekend in July when it’s warm and sunny out is NOT the place or time to try it. Don’t be the guy that is holding up a line of 20 people if you don’t know what you’re doing. Go when it’s not busy at least until you get the hang of it better or you risk getting swore at and just being frustrated and angry with yourself. I see this regularly with recreational boaters and they are simply clueless.
  3. It might or might not, but if you eat them at least it’s served some purpose.
  4. You have a valid point. But cant I just cast it down the bank instead of to the middle of the water work it back to where I am on the bank? Just seems to me i can cover alot of area that boat folk would love to cover in one cast. Thanks for the reminder. I have in fact caught a bass on a drop shot. Does the bite feel similar?
  5. Only thing I can say is spend more time with it and don’t give up. You can try something simple and proven like weightless senko (Texas rig or wacky rig), light 1/8oz Texas rig with 5-6” finesse worm or even dropshot.
  6. I have a rod built on the CS722 shooter blank and love it. I have always wondered about the both the 1 power and the 4-5 power models. I have been on the hunt for a super short frog/mag trickworm rod and I think the 4 or 5 shooter could be perfect for it. Please let us know what blank you end up with.
  7. All this is true. As is what I said. Does anyone have any proof of whether its gonna die or not? No...so why criticize someone? I assume he feels bad about it or wouldn't have put it on here to start with. I personally don't see the need to pour salt in the wound. Seems plenty have already done that. If you don't agree that's fine...as you stated that's the nature of a forum...right?
  8. I live in eastern pa and I don't have any shad either in a lot of waters I fish. This one has been doing pretty well for me...
  9. Took an hour drive after work for some albies and Spanish macks. Had a quick shot at albies and macks. One guy hooked up to a big albie! Saw lots of bait. Albies and macks didn’t want anything to do with my lures. The quest continues for an albie and Spanish mack. Did get a small bluefish and Black Sea bass
  10. I can’t comment on tracker but I have a 2015 Merc 75 4-stroke. It’s quiet, reliable, and fuel efficient. I get it winterized professionally every year, store it inside, and only use ethanol free premium gasoline.
  11. I had a frog in my throat once..dislodged it with a Bud lite..
  12. Don't overthink it. Go with what you like on the fish finders (does the menus make sense, etc.)...then, but the trolling motor that integrates best with the fish finder you've chosen. All the trolling motors are essentially the same...they've finally caught up with where Minn Kota was about seven years ago. You wont' catch any more...or any fewer...fish with this feature, or that one, whether it's there or not. Anyone who says otherwise is fulla beans. IMO, of course. follow-up: I just ran through the features of the Garmin Force here: https://buy.garmin.com/en-US/US/p/610414 Nothing jumped out at me as startling. If I were running Garmin head units, I'd buy a Force. If I were running Humminbird head units ( I do) I'd run a Minn Kota Ulterra or Ultrex. Ditto with whatever works best with Motor Guide.
  13. The op's opening question seemed to be motivated by budget and looking of a finesse 2 power spinning rod without considering each rod needs a reel. After reading the op's reply to buy 2 Sierras he isn't familiar with seems odd. Tom
  14. Private boats are not allowed. Their rentals have either/and trolling motors, outboards. Go to lakepurdyfishing.com, Ken
  15. I've only owned 2 4 stroke outboards (both Mercs) and both performed great. I guess what I'm asking is do you think the 4 strokes are as reliable in the long run as the old 2 strokes..
  16. I mean, once a person has paid for Keitechs and Genuine Senkos...price tends to take a back seat to straight up catching more fish.
  17. Yea I will probably just go with 2 Sierras one med and other med heavy because I really only have one setup that works well I usually just use my friends rods so thank you for your help
  18. I recently bought a Engle Minnow Cooler(13qt) and fish with my 3 1/2 year old son, under Thill micro bobbers like you would see while ice fishing. Im trying to teach a building block skill to him about smaller fish, catching larger fish. Not exactly the topic of this thread, but I think people put the blinders on when it comes to live bait. Same thing with squirrel hunting...it seems to be "below" people. My biggest fish were are caught on live bait.
  19. Depends on how many other rods you have, OP. Two Sierras makes more sense to me if you don't have many rods. Get one spinning and one casting. Unless you really don't want casting, in which case sure get two spinning rods. But do both have to be the same exact 702sf?
  20. I’m a sponsor here and glad to help. As for spool swap, what do you wish to accomplish? The stock one isn’t necessarily seen as deficient as a rule. There are multiple options.
  21. You’d be surprised what they can survive. @A-Jay caught one with like 4 Texas rigs stuck in its mouth not too long ago. It might have lived it might have died, you never know. I just eat them!
  22. The main one I use to imitate a bluegill is called Pro Staff Special or something like that. It is watermelon on top with a translucent orange on bottom which is on the bait on the right. Allen
