  1. Past hour
  2. Airdx for cheaper, but between those 2 i had a clarus and was not impressed.
  3. Did a full boat shakedown on Saturday. Everything repaired, added, and fixed all seems to be in working order. All ready to hit Pool 4 next Saturday. Still have ice on a few lakes up here in the Isanti/Cambridge area, but very close to being ice off. Less than a week I would guess. Shout to @rascalP for donating to my St. Jude Bass Classic fundraiser. I appreciate it, brother! Going to miss fishing against you in the Greenhorn this year.
  4. @roadwarrior and @greentrout, I had been thinking similarly, but I've always liked pulling the yak ashore on a river float and wading in for a bit...as much to give the back a short rest as anything. Saw a vid the other day with a guy using a 'wading staff' --had never heard of such a thing, but I think it's on my short wish list. folds up nicely, but can attach to belt while wading and just let it float alongside while casting...seems like a great idea As to the question about reptiles -- I'm in VA, but so far north as to longer be in the South, IMO. No gators and the snakes are (nearly) all harmless
  5. The option would be nice, but I'm with you and prefer a cable steer.
  6. You really have to know Moultrie well to navigate it. Marion has a marked running lane, but stray outside it, and there will be trees just below the surface. I love it there. Lots of big fish. I stayed at Black's Camp when I was there. We didn't run on plane anywhere we didn't see locals running.
  7. It’s my favorite color, I use either a green pumpkin or white Zako
  8. Hey everyone I was just wondering if anyone has thrown a green pumpkin shad color skirt color chatterbait at all? and if so what trailer did you throw on it and what type of forage is that imitating? I was thinking baby bass but idk..
  9. These are my fishes' favorite color:
  10. Those little kids are cutthroat.
  11. I'm sure nobody on here can relate, but believe it or not, I have bought WAY too much stuff recently, barely or not even used at all so thinning some nice stuff out (keeping some nice stuff as well of course haha!) I'm not interested in trading unless it's for a St. Croix Legend Elite ES70MLF specifically. (Note: I can't get any pics to upload in this post - I can PM or text upon request) Spinning Rods: All are 1 piece and will be shipped well protected in Rod Tubes: St Croix Legend Elite E68MXF: Brand New - I removed tags, put a reel on it, then ended up finding a great deal on a used ML action one so it sets in my rod rack. I bought it off of Ebay and simply want to get my money back: $325 Shipped. Fenwick Aetos AET63ML-FS: Mint like new - used lightly 2 times - $150 Shipped Fenwick Elite Tech Bass ETB610ML-XFS: never fished - set in Rod Rock $110 Shipped Fenwick Elite Tech Walleye ETW72ML-FS - Mint like new - used lightly 2 times - $100 Shipped Fenwick Elite Tech Bass ETB70M-FS - Used 1 season - great condition - some minor scuffs I tried to capture in pic but otherwise perfect: $85 Shipped Spinning Reels: Brand New - No Factory Boxes but will be shipped well protected in other boxes: Abu Garcia Revo Premiere RevoPRM20: Not Fished - Sit in Tackle Closet since last season - $185 Shipped Abu Garcia Revo Rocket Revo2RCKT20: Not Fished - Sit in Tackle Closet since last season - $150 Shipped
  12. i have only used the older clarus rods that were brown in color, but based on that i would say the Triumph is better, it is the same blank as the St. Croix Premier.
  13. Chartruese shiner and chrome/blue.
  14. For me its two reels, as a fineese angler its a Daiwa Airy Red Pixy, and the Daiwa Alphas Air reels.
  15. If there are any boaters in need of a co-angler link for this tournament on May 4th, send me a PM!
  16. It depends on the type of vegetation . I've never encountered any that I can rip crankbaits free of .
  17. You’ve got some lanes you can travel but there’s pretty much the possibility of stumps anywhere out there. I have trails on my gps that I follow but you still must be careful as the level fluctuates
  18. It's a very heavy trailer from the 60s or 70s - even unloaded, surprisingly, there's no bounce.
  19. I've never used any Lews reel so I guess my opinion is null, but I will say I own two SLX reels and they're great! I doubt you'll be disappointed in either selection.......

    Walther PPS M2

Appreciate the feedback Hopefully the deal sticks around. After talking with the Mrs she wanted something larger sized for easier recoil management and home protection. CDNN has the Walther Creed for $255 shipped. Pretty good reviews on it out there so hopefully it is not a lemon. Ordered one last night. Going to stick it out with the Shield a bit longer. I'll probably post some thoughts on the Creed after a thousand rounds.
  22. Never used the SLX but own a few of the MB. Solid reel for 100 bucks and honestly doubt I'll ever try an SLX unless I find one on a crazy sale. A ton of people say they are really good for the money. I do like the fact that the MB has Mag and Centrifugal brakes as opposed to only centrifugal on the SLX. Will be interesting to hear a report from someone who has used both. The SLX is 25 IPT vs 28 IPT on the MB, if that matters to ya.
  23. My son is young at 37 and this gives us hope, I am pushing 77 and time isn't on my side regarding fishing. Didn't mean to hijack this thread, the title inspired me to share this and I need to sell my boat, why not to someone who appricates it. Thank you for the kind thoughts, it is heartbreaking to lose a child very sorry to hear about your daughter. Hope you get back on the water soon, Tom
  24. I saw that when I was there at Christmas time, wasn’t sure if that was a seasonal thing or what. Any suggestions on gear to bring and throw for that time of year in that area? Senkos worms and jigs?
  25. Alright I'm sure this has been asked before but just looking for more opinions. Looking for a couple 6'6" mf spinning rods for light jerkbait and topwater. Not looking to go crazy here since I don't think you need any crazy sensitivity for these applications, and I just dropped a buncha $ on a couple LTB and CI4+ for plastics. I'm trying to decide between the clarus and the triumph. Which would you pick? Or should I consider something else in the $80 range.
  26. I feel like I was really close to catching the largest bass in the small lake I fished yesterday. Caught my personal best of 5-12, 21.25". That's pretty good for Iowa.
  27. 65 yrs. plus .... my calculus no longer do i wade .... i do understand some seniors are different ... good fishing .... "a man's got to know his limitations". dirty harry callahan
