  1. Past hour
  2. Those guys just have no remorse. One of those 114 bass could have been a world record but he was taken too early
  3. Wait until the shad spawn and drop flukes and senkos in the boils.
  4. So I headed out this morning at 6 AM to fish the same spot from my original post. Unfortunately, they've taken down the water level so low--it's basically unfishable. There were dead bass near the shore. This really doesn't seem to bode well for this lake. In situations such as this, provided they don't completely drain the lake, how long (in your experience) would it take a 200 acre (roughly) body of water to recover from this kind of treatment?
  5. Pretty much any combo of pb and j is good with me, except our 9 year old is allergic to peanuts, so now it’s almond butter or sunbutter for me. Sometimes if we’re out without him, I’ll load up on the Kraft extra creamy pb, cause nothing compares to the real thing 🥜
  6. What do we count as one session? Between dock and kayak fishing most in one day was: *Largemouth *Spot *White Crappie *Drum *Flathead *Channel Cat *Bluegill But it was between like 3 different lures.
  7. As mentioned before a milk crate won't work in front of you. Instead of a milk crate I modified a soft sided tackle bag that I can secure behind the seat. Lately I don't bring it along and try to be more of a minimalist. As for rod holders I have 2 removable adjustable rod holders mounted behind me and one in front. If you fish shore line with low over hanging trees rods stored in flush mount holders can get hung up in the trees. Recently I add 2 flush mounts just for trolling. Home made anchor trolley and stake out pole are helpful with $5 9 foot tomato stake with 3/4 pvc tee. A basic fish finder with the transducer reading thru the hull behind the seat and you will have everything you need. There good kayak rigging sites on the internet and Facebook.
  8. I have to agree with @MN Fisher. Peanut Butter one one slice of bread and grape jelly on the other one. Peanut Butter is one the four major food groups as far as I'm concerned. Beef, Pizza, and dessert are the other three.
  9. Didn't know they had Ike reels i'll have to check them out. I have one of their rods and love it.
  10. Fished Chickamauga last week for about 15 hours over 4 days, picked apart 3 different coves and about a hundred yards worth of main-lake shoreline with a wacky rigged senko and a t-rigged lizard, and didn't catch dick for largemouth. Managed to get a handful of keeper crappies, a bunch of bluegill, a few dink catfish, and a spot though. Also had a big blue cat snap 20lb braid while landing, which was fun.
  11. The younger the cashiers are at restaurants and stores and they give you the senior citizens discount whether you qualify or not. I had this happen to me several times.
  12. That’s the worst thing about an outboard, no air filter. Doesn’t take much to suck some crap into the engine. Bloody mice used to chew the wires inside my old man's old Nissan outboard every winter, till he finally started storing it in the basement. On a good note, I pulled mine out of storage last week and not one single dropping anywhere in the boat or motor. Been using mothballs in the boat for years and it seems to work to keep them out, maybe try a few in under the cowl next winter ( but don’t forget to remove them in spring😏).
  13. Yesterday
  14. Kistler Helium 3. $300 rod for $237 plus free shipping. Like Dwight said, you'll wonder what took so long.
  15. @Logan S thanks so much for the info! Very interested. I will be in touch for sure!
  16. Are you asking for bait casting advice or if you need a baitcaster ? I like playing with different types of tackle as part of the experience. There’s spinning tackle to do about anything you want if that’s your preference.
  17. $149 for a 7' med at Sierra trading post. https://www.sierra.com/abu-garcia-fantasista-regista-spinning-rod-1-piece-7-medium~p~310am/ I don't know anything about them.
  18. greentrout. try this web site and watch all the works for the derby horses. www.xbtv.com
  19. Not me ....I fish the same crystal clear lake all summer long and use the same color for everything , green pumpkin or sprayed grass if the company makes that color
  20. I like it. I can’t quite make out the model but how do you like it.
  21. I bought a few Carbonlite 2.0 rods and reels earlier this year as a way to save my budget. I've enjoyed them. I got the 7' medium, mh, and heavy. They have performed well. I even took them to Louisiana for redfish, just to give them a test. Wouldn't be the worst introductory BC rig.
  22. I make the PB&J then grill it. somtimes i add bacon. sometime 3 slice of bread PB on one. jelly on one butter on the 3rd. and once in a while slice a banana w/ the PB&J. and some times a Peanut butter cream pie!!
  23. Problem is....I posted the link for the great deal, now they have nothing left! 😂. I sent them an email asking when they would get more in, haven’t heard yet! I did find them somewhere else for $143 with a discount. I will be fishing from a boat. I know there is better higher $$ equipment out there, however I really believe I need to “walk before I run here!” This equipment will most definitely be moved to backup/extras down the road when I upgrade, but I want to upgrade knowing why I’m upgrading, not just buying it because it looks cool! In my original rod thread I received great advice on higher quality equipment, and I will get there, just believe I need to spend less to learn what techniques I prefer and then I will invest in those techniques.
