Quantum???
Although my Shimanos see most of the action, I still have a few Quantums that get used for certain techniques. All of my remaining Quantums are the Accurist models; CXs, PTs, and PTS(saltwater). I guess I have two favorites combos; Shimano Citica on G.Loomis, and Quantum Accurist on Carrot Stix.

You can only bring three rods, what do you bring?
This is easy, since three rods are all I take now anyway. G.Loomis SJR722(6'M spinning) G.Loomis CR723(6'MH casting) G.Loomis CR724(6'H casting) I had to chime in for those of us with "short rods"

Best Spinning Reel
I gotta say Shimano Symetre also. I now have three of them, and they are the best spinning reels I have ever owned.

G LOOMIS MBR 783C - ok for spinnerbaits too?
Yes, the MBR783 is the best all-purpose rod I have ever used.
-
What kinda line do you guys use?
Spinning-Trilene XL 6#,8#, and 10# BC-Trilene Big Game 12#, 15#, and 20# Experimented with Trilene 100% Flouro for a long time and really liked it, but not for all uses. I fish from a small boat and am limited to the amount of tackle I can safely take, so I am using 2 to 3 rods for everything. Mono is the best for all-purpose usage.

My newest Loomis(I think Raul would approve).
I like the shorter rods, especially 6'. Well, I was thinking of getting a CR722 for "finesse" plastics, but decided I wanted a G.Loomis spinning rod. I have 5(now 6) of them, and they are all casting rods. I stopped by my local shop, and the owner made me a deal. I was looking to get an SJR722 in IMX, but he didn't have any. The owner knows how much I shop there and appreciates my business, so he made me a deal; a SJR722 GLX for the price of an IMX. Needless to say I am one happy camper(fisher).

Fishing burn out?
I usually hit burnout on Bass fishing around this time of year, but not fishing in general. Right now, I am catfishing more than anything. Catting is so different; laid back and slow. I take my daughters out for some bluegill alot too. On vacation, I hit the beach for some surf, jetty, and pier fishing. After those, fall is here and I am ready for bassin again.

t-riggin
I'll say it too. My main T-rig rod is a 6'6" MH fast.

MossyBack Help Please, Loomis Guys.
I had a BCR803 Mossyback. It was a great rod, but as mentioned before, for a little extra money the IMX is much better. Now with that said, if you are getting a good deal, go for it. The only issue I had was personal. I use 3 MBR783Cs(MH fast) and the occasional adjustment to the xtra-fast Mossy, threw me off for awhile. The rod is a little stiffer and loads different, but that is great for weightless plastics including the Senko.

I tried my hand at grooming/Summer cut?
Tried that with my Longhaired Dachshunds about 2 years ago, they have not forgiven me yet. Luckily the Vizleagle has short hair.

Channel Cat on a spinnerbait? I had no idea
>:(First, Catfish are not Scavengers, they are predators just like bass. They prefer live food over all of the stinky concoctions that people throw out for them. They are opportunistic though. They will eat what is available. I have caught cats on just about every bass lure there is. If you ever want a reel fight, go hunting for a little flathead(8# or so) and see how you like that.

Traded my Carrot for a Crucial
I have been considering the same thing, except I would have to sell my Carrot(for less due to the crappy finish).

Essential Techniques
I agree with Road Warrior on this one. Soft plastics work all of the time, everywhere. I used to be a "power" fisherman with spinnerbaits and crankbaits. Early last year I decided to concentrate on learning and fishing soft plastics, and my catch ratio increased ten fold. I still love cranking and spinning, but the plastics get em every time. My favorites are Sweet and Smallie Beavers, Tiki Stick, Bamboo Stick, Trick Worm, Zoom Lizard, Ole Monster, Brush Hog, and Rage Tail Craw. I throw some topwater plastics also, primarily Rage Tail Shad and Toad.

rod shipping tubes
I agree, don't use cardboard. I don't like Schedule 40 PVC either. I have seen it fall from the top of a truck and shatter(worked as a construction plumber in another life). I use the sewer/drain PVC, it is not as stiff and has some elasticity. I have a rod tube made of the sewer/drain PVC that is 7' long. This tube has made around 20 trips to the Gulf on top of my car without a single problem to it or the rods inside. It is glue capped on one end and has a screw cap on the other. I use gray shipping foam to wrap the rod tips in and also a small square on each end for padding.

Fluorocarbon for topwater plastics and frogs.
I know most people don't use Fluoro for topwater plugs, but I was wondering about topwater plastics like Rage Tail Shad, Toad, and Zoom Horny Toad. I am now using Trilene 100% on most of my BCs, with the exception of my topwater rod. I know alot of folks use braid on a frog rod, but I can't stand it. I don't fish the type of slop/grass that braid is used for. I have used fluoro for buzzbaits without any issues, but haven't tried it with baits mentioned above.

My new Shimano Citica 200D for 75 dollars!!!
I've got four Citicas 200Ds now and love them. I do not use any of my other baitcasters; Abu, Daiwa, and Quantum. One of them is even on my Channel Cat rod. They are so comfortable for me to use that I can't use anything else. I am looking into getting a couple more in the near future. I wished the Dick's here carried them, I would do like Sam said.

Love the Carrot, but now I got an issue with it.
I contacted e21 about my issue. They suggested either exchanging with the retailer or an exchange with them. The problem with both is neither has the model that I have(6'6" MH fast casting). The retailer said that they could exchange for a different model, which is not what I want. E21 said they are no longer making that model, but I could exchange for the 6'9", no-go there either. I am pleased with everything else about the rod, so I guess I'll just deal with it. I did expect more from a $150 dollar rod. Next time it will go ahead and get the Loomis, never had an issue there.
