  1. maybe 120-0 refers to home games
  2. i have a 6'9'' drop shot magnesium. Has a real nice backbone for a ML rod and a soft tip. No problems here except for the money your probably better off getting a carrot stick
  3. Whatta a slug of a bass 19'' and 4.1 lbs that is a porker. Great fishing stay on um'
  4. I thought everyone knew how bad doc rivers was(a la orlando magic couldnt coach against a zone :-?) Celtics will go deep but i think Doc will choke it up even though coaches arent that a big deal unless their incompetant. anyways i love Golden state so Warriors all the way
  5. try the Palm or Morton there better
  6. I do not think casting distance should be an issue in heavy cover because you rarely will be making or needing to make really long casts. plus it is hard to keep your bait clean and to track it through the cover when its real faraway. weightless senkos rigged weedless are good to throw in pockets of heavy cover but cannot bust through mats if that is what your talking about. and the adjustment for a begining with a baitcaster is easy Tighten the casting adjuster i believe it is the tab things your talking about as taight as possible til you get comfortable with the weight of that bait
  7. i bank fish alot and only have to take 2 rods if that one baitcaster one spinning but that is because i bring only what will catch fish for the place i am fishing.if you cant do that then setup a base camp and fish one large area and when your done move to a new spot and fish another large area you dont have to take all those around the whole lake
  8. Yeah No probelm thats what i thought but not gonna say anything unless im sure.
  9. That rating is diameter wise and deosnt account for super lines if my memory is correct 30lb braid is equal to 8lb test mono/fluoro I dont know how low the line test rating goes for that rod cuse of the x but i would get some heavier braid than 30lb if it is a baitcasting rod to help against backlashes just to be safe
  10. Yeah but how much more would it hurt to lose a big boy due to a bad hook. You'll forget about the price once you nail a big-un on on um
  11. I havent caught many fish on a swim jig and dont use it just about never but when i did catch one i didnt set the hook just felt like some grass was on so i lifted the rod slowly and reeled in and it got hooked nicely but one time i felt the same style bite and swung for the fences and didnt hook up but i dont swim a jig often to 100% tell you just what i have experianced
  12. wow if i were you i would move in with him. i wont say much more than that but if i had to pick a place to get a house within a trisate area that would be the spot congrats on your son getting a house there ;D
  13. yeah that kid just isnt an angler. i believe he is under the style that it is better to look good than fish good
  14. Great fishing matt i guess ace didnt step it up this weekend i might have to stop giving that kid bait if he doesnt start catching more lol
  15. I've used them and the paint on the heads chipped to easy just off of sparce rocks and light wood cover they arent worth the price even if they were $1 but they are probably good for grass cuse that wont chip the paint
  16. Fluoro has a lot less stretch than copoly but knots wont hold up after a few fish. knots arent a probelm if you retie every time from my expreiance and i use fluoro religously. fluoro is not good if you dont like retying alot
  17. i believe in that strongly but let me add to it that you have one baitcaster and one spinning. i see myself fishing a lot of different appilcations with a 7ft heavy baitcaster and a lot with a strong spinning rod that can easily cover more techniques than i use (although i dont use that many as it is)
  18. LBH i knew someone would bring up pflueger after i posted it i dont use any of there stuff mainly because i bought my fill of okuma and quantum reels enough to match up all my rods and thats all i use thats not really boycott just preferance
  19. Oh i know kinami is the same thing but i dont like the 2-tones and swirls plus it might be 100% mental but the plastic feels different to me than gycb
  20. I've used alot of fireline regular(smoke) on light spinning gear for smallies and its great but for anything heavy i use braid. The real question is why were you using fireline for crankbaiting
  21. your right about shakespeare wont touch any of there stuff kinami is garbage to me but i like gycb but i only buy there stuff online from tackle warehouse which makes the stuff sooo much cheaper. eagle i dont know i dont use their offsets but there straight shanks are the best they give me everything i want out of a straight shank that gamma doesnt. O and i dont likebooyah all there stuff is garbage espeacially there jigs
  22. i like fighting fish but its the point right before you set the hook when you realize you have a bite I love watching the line move the anticipation is great plus most places i fish are small and i already know where the fish are
  23. i have seen that picture before if i remember it is like 15 lbs but that is a decieving angle but i still think it is real and i think it was caught in baccarac. George i thought the first fish was bigger than the 2nd but you did not fool me on the last one because i it looked like an old picture plus he wasnt holding it out like the others fun game though
  24. I've used coploymer lines before and liked it but did not love it. I am a guy of extremes so i dont want to use the comprimise between fluoro and mono but it is not bad just i like 100% fluoro better( i like the lack of stretch because i hate fishing that rubber band people call mono)
  25. if it has a dam of some kind, hit the corners of the dam first it is always a good place to start whenever i fish an unfamilar body of water
