  1. I've used it and havent had any probelms with it. In both 20 lbs and smaller line tests. the line splitting seems to happen to me whenever i use heavy fluro no matter what company luckily only when iam messing around with it at home
  2. Way to slay a toad even though people were thinking you were finished mentally man that is a pretty fish
  3. i do not know much about smallmouth in impoundments but i dont think it could really survive in a small impoundment especially if it is weedy. but mayb it would thrive if instead u stocked primarily smallmouths
  4. unless you live on the lake it is not a big deal. I could see if you bought a house there and you cant fish the lake that blows but if you dont live there the place is not worth fighting for it would be crowded due to you guys fighting hard for it and fishing with crowds blows majorly. use that time you try to open the lake to scout public but lesser known bodies of water
  5. I 80% of casts i make are what i call a pendulum cast on a 7' or less rod (mostly spinning) where i just move the lure away and towards me like a pendulum and then release it at an optimum point i like it a lot for target casting
  6. I never use live bait just because i dont like touching the bait and gunking stuff up but i read a article somewhere about an oldtimer using baby chicks a bait for monster yellowcats in texas now granted that is catfish but some people some people are doing stuff like that, killing chicks for catfish is a lot more cold hearted than killing some mice in my opinion
  7. I agree with you guys on all that except wacky rigging. One time i loaned my brother on spinning rod and started throwing a wacky rig on baitcaster and had no probelm with bait weight or backlashing i just hated the "feel" or really the lack of it. When i pitch or flip with a spinning rod i usually under swing in to spots. 90% of my time with a spinning rod is all underhand. I do this by just swinging it like a pendulum and letting go of the line when i want it is pretty easy
  8. Those are some Money spots way to hammer um Keep Slaying um ;D
  9. Nice fish while burning a rattle trap GOOD WORK i am not criss angel or anything but i am guessing there was a camera in your boat
  10. I feel for you I hate fishing tidal waters for any type of fish. IT is enough to get out there at the right time when they are going to bite and you know the times but when you throw in a tide that complicates things alot. Your right FC one day they are there next day they arent. I know if i bought a fishing shack it would not be on a Tidal system
  11. Not in Va LOL it has been so hot recently (low 90s) but is finally cooling down and starting to feel like fall
  12. I believe it is generally the opposite, bass get whitish in the winter i am not sure why though
  13. Man you lose something big everytime i see you (jk) but thats is just tough luck those stripers have soft mouth and it doesnt help you hooked it with a crankbait just want meant to be hope you stick a 40lb striper later in the fall
  14. the wacky rig is my favorite rig mainly because i like the way you can fish it in in one spot for awile when fishing it vertically very good in cover when you are careful
  15. Age of the pond is a definite factor as well as age and maybe fishing pressure i do not know how long you have been fishing those ponds but it is possible with pond A that a while back it was hit very hard with pressure and now the fish that took the grunt of it are older and smarter with small bodies of water very little things can affect them massively. Maybe Some fish eater keeping bass from pond C made room for fish to get bigger while pond B had no one taking fish and just got over crowded. The only way to really find out is fish it a lot and maybe ask a local game warden or fisheries manager/biologist
  16. I dont know what alke your talking about maybe the atricle was talking abut following the baitfish to catch bass in the falll
  17. I have fished a pond almost exactly like that hit the edges of the pads with your favorite senko/senko color rigged weedless
  18. You have to stop making those posts they are KILLING ME!!! they are just so hilarious "drags are for sissies" that is an instant classic. I dont know if it is possible but it would make it the drag comment even funnier if those fish were caught on a spinning rod ;D
  19. really you have to stop writing those posts they are KILLING ME!!! it is funniest stuff in bass fishing man drag are for sissies that is an instant classic d**n.
  20. Remember all swim baits dont have to be the "big wood" they can be 4.5- 5.5 inch soft plastic swimbait You could use a six foot six inch heavy jig rod for a variety of swimbaits too. Plus with a six six rod you can skip it under docks and into other tight places and a 6-6 Heavy rod is a stout rod so you dont have to worry about the lure being to heavy
  21. throw a wacky rigged anything to all openings in the grass or a t-rigged swim senko, swim it on the surface.
  22. Thats freaky i would be scared if i caught that thing. but nice fish even with that. u shoulda dug out the alage on the sore so mayb it would heal
  23. for anything other than texas rigging i use a kistler 6 foot 9 ml rod with a fast tip it is just a dream to hurl weightless plastics for texas rigging any rod that is 6-6 medium fast tip and bigger
  24. Catt is right about using a weight. You should put a slip sinker on your rig. Use a ribbontail worm on that rig because the slip sinker gives it crazy good fluttering action on the sink.
  25. if u read a box of crystal fireline you will see it says something like almost transparent.ur better off just using regular green briad or smoke colored fireline. So your best bet is to learn to tie stronger nots like a surgeons knot for joining two separate lines together good luck.
