  1. I have caught those and i will agree with flipin
  2. I figured there would be a great dock pattern, I have some baits in mind that hopefully I can get my hands on before I go down there. What about the creeks and ledges right of the bank?
  3. McDonalds: 2 Double cheeseburgers off the dollar menu, large fry, and a large dr.pepper. That is what I eat when I'm going to tournaments, that is about the only time I really eat out. I get the double mostly b/c its not offered around here on the dollar menu. If im in town it is wendys jr. bacon cheeseburgers, thats usually right after work and before I go out on the town
  4. I'm not going to be down there till the last weekend in september. I have confidence in the craw and shad colored baits so I should be good there.
  5. Ok, I'm fishing LOZ next month, what kind of baitfish are predominate there. I live like 6 hours away so there is no way I can really check it out. What color cranks is that im looking for, trying to match the hatch. Thanks ahead of time for any help you can offer. alex
  6. I have and stx and a premiere, I prefer the premiere. Everyone says they don't have as much drag as the stx, I will admit that they are a little weaker. But I haven't found that to be a disadvantage yet if anything its better for me, I already have a huge problem digging line in when I set the hook, it kind of helps me with a little bit of give. I do also like the light factor, paired up with my carrot stick i can fish all day without shoulder problems. They both are great reals, both will do the job. just my 2 cents
  7. All i will say is go Big Twelve Baby! Can't touch this... unless OU gets there and chokes but thats expected
  8. a mess up of mazda and a disgrace to the rotary family
  9. ya did u change schools? or did kevin say he would allow you school? I'm curious to know
  10. No. Federal law prohibits a dealer from voiding your warranty just because you are using aftermarket speed equipment, with only two exceptions: the warranty can be voided if the aftermarket part causes damage or adversely affects the emissions or the emissions system. That line right there says it all, if u can say that rolling black smoke out the tail pipe of a diesel truck, that has a tuner, doesn't adversely affect emidsions I don't know what would. Black smoke is partially burnt fuel going straight into the atmosphere. I have seen the new trucks, 6.7 diesels that have had programmers on them, that will roll smoke, that alone is damaging the catalyst system.... thats one of the problems we are having now is because of programmers plugging up our particulate filters, that definitely affects the emission systems. South FLA, ya there is no way to prove that, you have 2 pcms, one stock one thats juiced. They are referring to handheld programmers. Stealership huh? Your paying for experience, and knowledge period... I bet there aren't very many people on this board that can talk about can b bus high speed, and almost no one in an independent shop knows what that even is. We are trained with the latest and greatest, no last years car, you pay for what you get. The whole put the dealership out of business thing is kind of unneccesary, considering I lost my job and half my graduating class(Oklahoma state university-Okmulgee, Chrysler Automotive program) did when chrylser decide to close shops.
  11. I'm a Dodge Technician, you can always tell when someone has a tuner on their truck. If I can prove that the fuel system was lean, ya maybe a faulty o2 sensor but there will be a code most of the time, then im going to turn them in and their warranty will be void. If it is a vehicle that I know has a programmer, and the same thing keeps going wrong and we are replacing it under warranty then there are other ways other than void the warranty if I can't directly prove it. I will say 75% of people with programmers on their trucks we will fix them once but if the same thing happens again then we will deny service, which we have the right to do. I have denied more service on vehicles due to programmers than anything else. We give them the estimate of what it will cost, another thing you have to remember is a Technician is going to diagnose your vehicle and if he can prove it had it then he has no worries, we get paid more when its not warranty. I will say our shop is honest we sell things that need to be done, and we will diagnose and fix the problems that need to be fixed but if we narrow things down to a tuner then your sol.
  12. I would pick the premier just because of the weight factor, my premier matched up with a carrot stick... equals pure balance. I love my stx but i can tell the difference when I pick up the the stx, which is also mated with a carrot.
  13. I own a little bit of everything... i am also a deal ***** Reels:abu/quantum.... I just don't have the money to buy more abu's Rods: Carrot sticks/kistler... but still searching my options Mono: Sufix. Flouro: Seaguar/cabelas Plastics: Rage Tail/tiki/Berkley Crankbaits: I hate them, but lucky crafts when I have too Spinnerbaits: Terminator/booyah Underwear: hanes boxers
  14. This hit a nerve with me.... Did you happen to see the weather for that week? Here is something for you... 195 DAVID FRITTS HUDSON, IL 1 2-01 0 0-00 1 2-01 Look at what KVD did at the classic this year. We placed 16th and outfished David Fritts, The weather was crap, it rained and stormed the night before. Unless you were there fishing you have no idea what it was like. The fish moved off beds and to stump fields, and holding on deep on points. Most everyone was fishing shallow flooded brush, where some fish were. We still caught fish, and a ton of shorts. My buddy and I talked about this, you go to school for 2 years, so you have to come up with a club get it official through the school and run it, and keep interest. It is almost impossible to do all that in 2 years. Here something that would make your case a tad better would be if you already had the club already setup. I have fished in clubs tourneys and bfl's since I was 12 but being arrogant and cocky will not get you anywhere. These tournaments are qualifiers, flw pays for it, these tournaments are for teams to have a chance, and get new anglers in. Holding qualifiers for that lake would just drive up the cost, you said yourself that you don't want to have to drag your boat for these other tournaments and not having to pay entry fees. I know our club couldn't do that, most clubs hold their own qualifiers for these tournaments anyways. The closest college tournament we have is Lake of the ozarks, we are going to prefish the lake and we have already fished it this year for bfl's. I have a feeling though that these will be the only year for these tournaments, the parent company of flw has filed for bankruptcy, and my buddy talked to kevin and he was super stressed out. This is a guy that was excited and cheery, we will see what happens.
  15. I don't know where u live but I fish for Wichita State University, in kansas. Our division is packed, there is a waiting list for schools to enter the tournaments and there are no schools with more than 1 team entered. Even if they allowed 2 year colleges in now you wouldn't be able to get in. We got lucky and registered for all 4 tournaments early, I know it sucks going to a 2 year college and not being able to compete, I was there. Most people transfer to a 4 year school, so you will just have to wait. FLW is paying for us to fish these tournaments, it is perfect, but aslong as they are paying for them they make the rules. In times like these I am not going to argue with what kevin says, this is the first year and who knows it might take off or it might get knocked down with the economy. All I have to say is stick it out and see what happens.
  16. I was at bps last weekend and picked it up, it looks almost identical to the spro. All I have to say is if the drain hole works and I don't have to squeeze the stupid bait every other cast then that will be my frog. Plus it has a rattle, which is always a plus
  17. I want one, hopefully abu garcia will start having some cool stuff in the american markey instead of just the jdm market... it costs a fortune over there
  18. sweet, that means the old one will be on clearance shelves soon... thats what im talking about. On the POOger remarks, i have to agree but look at shemano curado, the one b4 the current one.... every company screws up then they fix it and come out with something that compensates
  19. I will agree with the munster, dink catchers for sure. I was using a craw colored on at kentucky lake for the college series and caught like 6 on that crankbait. I think the biggest one was 12 inches, atleast I caught something on it. Those were probably the first fish I had caught on a crankbait in several years, I can't stand throwing them.
  20. I believe it helps out some with sensitivity, b/c the blank of the rod is laying on my arm.... just my 2 cents. Thanks for bringing this up though b/c I lost my saved page with the tutorial.
  21. We drove through Illinois saturday afternoon, they had the highway at a stand still because they were having to cut the trees in the highway and push them off... 2 hours to go 10 miles. Then on top of that when we were leaving kansas to go to kentucky we ended up barely making it through a town north of here b/c of the same storm.
  22. I have had the same problem with cetaphil, thats what my dermatologist told me to use... it works really well. You know if you deal with really dry skin then this isn't a girly question. IF I don't you any moisturizer then my exema (I don't know how to spell it, I just have it) will go hay wire.
  23. Man who goes to bed with an itchy butt wakes up with a smelly finger
  24. Hopefully everything will be perfect for this weekend, I'm going to get my college fish on with truffle. Everything so far, from what I have read, looks like it will be at normal pool, bass are bedding.
  25. The one I pull on every new guy at work... Give them a styrofoam cup and tell them to go get some brake kleen.... its goes right through the styrofoam... it makes me laugh everytime. The other one is when someone puts in a new motor in a vehicle, especially if they are struggling with it. You get next to the lift and as soon as you start it start hitting the lift with a hammer... its funny but man it sucks to be the one thinking that you just messed up a motor.
