  1. I haven't but there are photos out there of people that have done the hike starting at the route 28 bridge down to bull run.
  2. Welcome aboard! There are lots of ponds up the road from Vienna near Fairfax and Chantilly.
  3. Dude! If you can hear thunder, you are in danger. : Indeed! Hahahahahaaaa....
  4. Good times! Once again thanks guys for the invite and as always it was fun.
  5. Thanks for sharing Moe. Nice fish and crazy heads you got there.
  6. My frog is itching to get out to those pads. ;D
  7. June 14th sounds great!
  8. Jay, Let me know what the plan is and I'll meet you all there.
  9. the easiest way is to use a heavy weight either in front of or behind (drop shot method) the gill. 3/4 - 1+ oz. this makes 'em stay put for the most part unless it's a very large gill. if a bass does not bite them quickly, they will begin to tire out and weaken from struggling against the hook and heavy weight. then you can decrease the weight you are using if you want. of course the other thing is to make sure they do not have enough slack line to get any farther than you want 'em to go. it's not easy, especially with a bigger gill, but with some practice you can somewhat limit and control where and how far the gill goes. hope that answers your question. Good stuff! Thanks for sharing your story and great looking fish by the way.
  10. Nice looking fish. Always good to see someone pulling out decent fish with the good ole Mepps. By the way, Black Fury dressed #3 is my favorite.
  11. Thanks for the invite guys and as always had fun regardless of the weather. That Pumpkin seed Senko sure did help avoid a skunk. Jay finding your honey hole and hearing "man, you don't even have to do anything". That was funny as hell. Hahahahhaaaa... Dan is was great to finally meet you. I hope I get to make out for the Smallie outing Ron always pulling out the big'uns. I'll pm you my schedule for the rest of the month.
  12. Nice catch Slomoe!
  13. Good job Ron! I remember telling Jay last year when I lost a hawg over at Mercer's that there had got to be some huge hawgs in that lake.
  14. Nice looking lunker! Next time don't leave the house without sunblock, especially in Florida. Great pics and thanks for sharing.
  15. No problem bro. As far as Saturday goes I have to work. I hope you and your dad get your PB on Saturday.
  16. Jay, My boss went out again today to Gunston Cove near Belvoir and caught 11 Bass ranging from 1-4lbs. 2 on wacky worm and the rest on red crawdad cranks. All were caught around 2 pm. He said nothing was biting morning time but as soon as the tide started coming in the bite was on. He's going out tomorrow again and I'm going out fishing with him on Wednesday. I'll provide more information on patterns.
  17. Weather was terrible but I still had fun. Thanks again Ron for taking me out fishing.
  18. Great looking fish Jay!
  19. Floating dock with minnows is the spot for crappie. I had some teenagers pulling them out left and right with minnows. As far as bass, the biggest I've landed was about 1.5 lbs I believe on a 7" power worm. Jay might know because it was his fish but it wanted my lure instead. Hahahahahahahaaa....!!!!
  20. I'm in! Always looking for smallies.
  21. Nice fish Ron!
  22. Yes, it's the 28 bridge. I caught a couple of smallies there just before winter.
