  1. I'll be there in the morning then hit 28 in search of some smallies.
  2. I agree. She looks much bigger than 3 IMO.
  3. Sunday, is up in the air at the moment. I will PM you on Saturday to let you know if it's a go or no go.
  4. Nice fish rig. I will be giving it a whirl this week.
  5. Very tough! I tossed everything as well and I manage to lose a hog and catch a dink. The hog that I missed was caught on a senko. I found a drop off with some stumps. Well, I tossed it passed the stumps and was bouncing it up and down off the ground. Then, just as I have all day thought I was reeling in some weeds because it felt like dead weight, then when I get it a couple of feet from the bank to pull it over a laying tree when I see this huge bucket mouth surrounded by some weeds and my senko hanging from its mouth. Well, that's when I kick in and try to set the hook but I guess it saw me and with one big splash it bolts down and out comes the senko. Has anyone ever experienced a situation where you think you are stuck on weeds and don't even feel like something hit your lure and up comes a fish with weeds and all?
  6. Great article! Thanks for the link.
  7. The reservoir is in Loudoun County on Route 659 north from Route 50. It's about 20 minutes from my house.
  8. Hey, that looks like the one I caught yesterday.
  9. Any of you fish Beaver Dam? If so, how did you do?
  10. I did a lot during the summer. The biggest fish I've caugth there was a 1.5 lb bass on 10" Berkley power worm Red shad. Although, this blog that I subscribe to has the writer talking about a guy pulling out a 6 lber about 3 weeks ago. Here is a quote from his blog "A couple of fellas on a bass boat landed a 6 lb largemouth in the opening of the channel that leads to the boat launch. I think they were fishing a spinner bait. Wow, what a bruiser of a fish that was and I could tell it was large from where I was standing on the shore." I'm sure there are some big fish in there but with pressure put on that lake I'm sure it's pretty hard to catch those pigs.
  11. Nice fish! How deep were you fishing?
  12. That's what I told Jason as we were leaving. I mean what can you say when you are tossing the same lure next to him and he is pulling them out? Good job Ron!
  13. Thanks for the information. I believe everyone got confused when you mentioned Bull run on your earlier post. Thank again for the information and if you have anymore spots in the area please feel free to share.
  14. I always knew there were big fish at Mercer. Jay, remember the first time I went out to Mercer and I told you I lost a huge one on a 10" Berkley power worm? I saw that thing but I didn't set the hook properly cause I got caught off guard and was too excited. Anyway, Good job once again Ron.
  15. Nice one Ron! Very...very nice.
  16. Well, I went out for an hour on my way back from the car dealership. Anyway, I fished the right side of the bridge and managed to catch a dink LMB on a shaky head (first on shaky). I believe the worm was bigger. I caught it about 20 feet to the right where the water starts running over the rocks but across the bank. I ran into a couple of guys out there and one of them said that he always catches smallies out there on live crawdads that finds under rocks. Just a quick question though, cause I know 71rig is the one to bring this place to our attention, how far back do you go and what side of 28 has produced the most for you? The left side has some deep pockets, a good current and lots of laydowns--lots of potential. I didn't go too far either side but one of the guys said there are some deep pockets out on the left side as well.
  17. Nice fish Ron! Gotta love that Rat-L- Trap.
  18. I'll be giving in a shot tomorrow afternoon.
  19. You finally tried it. Good job! It's 10 minutes down the road for me.
  20. I agree, I have caught many with this bait.
  21. I'm also a FPS gamer, I just picked up Crysis but waiting for my upgraded parts to come in. I thought about getting COD 4 but I think the wife might get it for me for xmas. Jay, I hope this answers your question. I also have Wii and enjoy playing "Rapala Pro Fishing" with my kids.
  22. I'm a gamer, so i'm in the process of upgrading my rig for the next generation DX10 games. Gotta say between fishing and gaming it can be very expensive. Gotta love it!
