  1. Maybe it is a color thing and the fish want to see a different color space monkey. I have caught bass with them using them on a jig head, a keel weighted hook and tx rigged (not pegged). You may also want to try a different weight for either a faster or slower fall rate. I have some days here where the bass will only hit certain colors. My best days usaully are when I throw the watermelon red/black flake. I also use spike it on the appendages once and a while. I hope this helps, good luck.
  2. Good job out there soccplayer07, those are some nice looking fish.
  3. It is a Long-Nosed Gar due to the skinny long mouth, I have caught a few of these.
  4. I would go with the Space Monkey in watermelon red/black flake.
  5. It is an awesome bait and it can be fished multiple ways (keel weighted hook, tx rigged, carolina rigged, weightless and shakey head jig). http://www.ragetail.com/ragetailspacemonkey.html
  6. I use both the cavitron buzzbaits and the rage shad, they both work awesome.
  7. Actually Chipotle used to be owned by McDonalds. That is no longer the case.
  8. Congrats on the hawg.
  9. These baits put bass in the livewell, I have caught bass on all of the different Rage Tail baits. Big O designed some awesome baits and I am looking forward to his new designs after I Cast. Do I get paid to promote the baits? Absolutely not!!! I like these baits so much that I bought 160 packs from Boaters World when they were going out of business last month.
  10. I think it looks awesome.
  11. I hooked a friend of mine from Massachusetts up with some Space Monkeys last Friday when we went out fishing and between the two of us we caught close to 40 bass in three hours. Needless to say my friend is now a huge fan of Rage Tail baits and his favorite bait is now the Space Monkey. This is a guy that did not care for any soft plastic baits before we fished together.
  12. What size hooks are you using? I use a large hook, the Owner 7/0 when I throw the 10" anacondas and have not had the tail bitten off yet.
  13. Awesome job Kevin, that is one fine looking hawg you got there CONGRATS.
  14. Any updates from today?
  15. Rally, where did you get that information from? It is incorrect.
  16. Your decision or your wifes?
  17. JCrzy4Bass, just make sure you have a good back up plan because water levels are really high right now. Also the extended forecast shows quite a few more days of rain over the next two weeks. That river may end up being too dangerous to wade if the weather pattern stays the same over the next two weeks.
  18. Nick, after launching my bass boat there for a "Take A Wounded Soldier Fishing" tournament a couple of weeks ago I would not recommend launching in a jon boat with just a trolling motor. The water can change quickly out there and it can get dangerous for a small boat. I found that out and was fighting swells and big waves in my bass boat. I would find another place to launch.
  19. You should be using a 5/0 EWG hook with the toad. I have been fishing the Rage Tail toads for over a year now and I have caught a lot of bass with them. I use the Gamakatsu heavy wire 5/0 EWG hooks, the heavy wire hook gives it a keel effect so the toad runs right side up all the time.
  20. I am from Dale City and I fish all over Northern, VA. I have a bass boat and a canoe and I occasionally have a seat available for those that are interested.
  21. Ok NOVA fishermen this is a warning for all that fish the Occoquan Resevoir, two guys almost lost their lives there this past weekend. The boat they were in went over the dam, luckily they were plucked from the water via helicopter. Anyone know who these guys were? They are local fishermen. http://www.insidenova.com/isn/news/local/article/dramatic_rescue_on_the_occoquan/36683
  22. The shads and toads are made to run right over the slop and they work well. I have had tremndous success with all of the Rage Tail baits, not just the toads and shad. So much so that I recently purchased 140 packs of Rage Tail baits from Boaters World while they were going out of business.
  23. I am looking for people to go out on the Potomac with me once in a while. I fish Mattawoman Creek (MD), Powells Creek, Neabsco Creek and I am going to start fishing Aquia Creek soon. I typically launch out of Leesylvania State Park when I go out. I have also fished Pohick a few times. If anyone is ever looking to try the Potomac River that is currently a shore fishermen, drop me a PM.
  24. It has spots that are over 20 feet deep and yes I believe there are northerns in Lake Mercer. A couple of residents that fish there have told me about them.
  25. Been home sick most of the weekend so I din't get a chance to fish Aquia, I am hoping to fish there June 13th or 14th. I will be out of town next weekend for my niece's high school graduation in Massachessetts.
