  1. Why did they kill it? Was it eating whole families?
  2. Didn't Brett Hite win on that rig on the Kissimmee chain a year or two ago? Where do you like to fish that rig (guessing over heavy grass)? I had a lot of lucky with the normal stuff topwater and jigs. I also tried dropshotting and deepcranking a good amount this year and caught some good fish on those two techniques.

Yeh Mike that will happen occasionally. It will also take you on back roads which is also a bad thing while towing. Many times I will use mapquest and the GPS. No GPS is full proof a lot of times you need to work with it. They are amazing when you need to turn around on major highway systems, in the cities, and when your completely lost.

I am honestly suprised so many of you like TomTom's. They are good units, but the Garmins have such a cleaner look to them. Like I said earlier you will be happy with either you choose.
  5. I have a feel this is going to turn into ANOTHER expensive habit I can't afford. I think for my first I am going to go with a Glock of some sort. I am goin to Cabelas tomorrow to get a feel for some to see what I like.
  6. Well I am still in the market for a handgun. After shooting more and thinking about what I want, I decided I want a bigger caliber then 9mm. I am looking at .40 caliber handguns now. I want a handgun in carrying size. I am not going to get my CC permit right away, but I want the option to carry whatever handgun I buy. I don't want to a blow a huge amount of cash, but don't want junk. I know this is what all buyers say. Does anyone have any buying advice or know of any good sales going on? I am looking to spend around $400, but flexable within $100 of my goal price if it is a good deal.

First of all I would go with a garmin. In my opinion it is a much cleaner setup and the mapping system is very good. The only downfall of the garmin is that if you want to update the maps after 30 days of purchase you must pay the price of an SD card, CD, or direct download from their website. I don't suggest updating maps yearly. I suggest every 3 years or so. Most garmin units will hold 1000 favorites which is plenty. You said you wanted the unit to speak street names. Some other options would be lane assist, voice recognition, FM traffic reciever, bluetooth, and 3D buildings are the main features I can think of at the moment. I can list 50 units that have what you said which is spoken street names and can hold a lot of info. Look for the sales. You can find good deals on many different garmins. Don't go with sony (maps suck) Don't go with magellan (when in route you need to cancel route to go to say a gas station or food) Don't go with any other cheap brands. Garmin or TomTom and I highly reccomend garmin.
  8. For a baitcaster under $100 I would go with the Abu Garcia revo s or the Shimano citica. You can find both under $100 if you look around.
  9. I would have too... especially if I saw that giant animal getting angry at me for not eating it.
  10. Wouldn't the fish be under the thermocline? When deep cranking isn't it best to still hit the bottom? Sorry, I have never really deep cranked before and would like to learn. For the most part under the thermocline the oxygen is much lower. That would be my guess.

  15. I looked at sallie mae as an option and it had the worst interest rates out of all of them I looked at. I am sure it flucuates, but a few months ago when I looked for another loan that was very high.
  16. Penn State has 40k studnets at main campus alone and they didn't take long to send the excess amount of money back to me in a check. I would say it took a few weeks.. maybe 2 or 3 weeks.
  17. I know federal stafford loans and Wells Fargo don't give you cash. I will try to get in touch with my roommate tonight, he gets cash money from his loans.
  18. The most common fish story. I had one bigger, but I lost him at the boat... Did you measure the fish when it was in the water? The poster estimated the length. For all we know that girl could be 200-300 lbs. :

  21. I like the mornings showing up to the lake early when there is still fog over the water and the sun is rising. I like drifting along with 100+ other boats waiting for blast off and smelling and hearing the motors. I like the excitmenet before blast off not knowing what could happen during the day. The mystery of what is happening below the surface.
  22. What bodies of water do you fish?
