I couldn't imagine how many hours you have put in for all the baits you post. You do deserve a break! I have been wondering if you could sell your patterns to bait companies. They look professional maybe people would be intrested in buying the baits from you or the patterns.

I don't know about other people but for me powerpro lasts forever. Braid doesnt reel get messed (lack of better words) up while on the reel. Also nothing really snaps it.

Do you think it will be that great of a sale and worth the wait? I know I like my gifts on xmas but he is older and i'm sure he really wouldn't mind. I don't think i'm going to balance it for two reasons. I looked at the thread and it seems to be a personal preference kind of ordeal. Also it seems to be a lot of work and I could possibly damage the rod. I was looking at the St. Croix Triumph but that idea is still up in the air. I don't think I want to go the ebay route unless it is an amazing deal. I like the Bionic blade but if I drive to get it i'm looking at a 2 1/2 hour ride. If I order it shipping will kill me since I will probably want the one piece. I was checking out the Fish Eagle II but that is also up in the air.

Well i'm a college student sort of short on money lets keep this in mind please! My parents got my uncle a Quantum Catalyst Pti spinning reel. I want to get him a rod to match the reel. I am trying to keep it less then $60. I know there is slim pickings for this price range. I was hoping you guys could help me pick out a rod for him. The stats on the reel go as follows: CT30PTiA 5.2:1, 160/8, 7+1, 13.1 oz. He likes the bigger reels so I picked that reel out. He is also tall (6'4) and prefers largers rods. He really only fishes T-rigged 4 inch berkleys, and nightcrawlers. First thing that crossed my mind was a 7' MF but whatever you guys think. If you could help me that would be awesome! Thank you!

With powerpro or any braid on a spinning reel make sure you either have a mono leader tied to the spool and connected to the powerpro or tape the power pro directly to the spool.

Do any of you guys fish Lake Newton? My college is fishing in a tournament there in March. I curious if you could give me a quick recap of the lake. I know it is a powerplant lake but thats it.

I used a 98 windstar to tow my 14 ft aluminum with a 25. Your van will def. be able to tow a 16 ft boat with a 25. You wont feel any difference in pulling up hill or on the brakes.

It's in PA Stone Valley. Penn state basically owns it but it gets stocked with trout.

I like med fast for texas and small jigs.

I hate when they stock trout in lakes. My last bass tournament I must have caught 3-5 18 inch trout.. What a tease that was! They will hit rapala countdowns if you work them, nightcrawlers, mealworms, minnows, mepps inlines will work, roostertails, and powerbait. Those are my trout standards. Good luck!

My cousins husband went down to georgia (from pa) for a boat. He got an amazing deal and it turned out to be great. I think you need to feel the owner out and use your brain and your gut. Also if you picked out an add and posted it here we would spot every detail on the add that could be strange or a problem. I just thought of a few other things... Call the owner your interested in buying from pick his brain about everything you can think of mainentance, use, etc... If you still feel good about the boat/owner go to it and take it for a test run. You can also take it to a boat dealer or mechanic to check it out for you. It will cost a few $$ but save you $$ in the future. Good luck!

I like pickerel but I only like them when I target them. I do hate when they bite off my cranks or topwaters though. Which is why I use braid on top now. As for pickerel for eats... My grandmother pressure cooks them picks the meat off the bones and makes a crab patty like mix. It tastes amazing I suggest if you like it try it. She also does it for suckers. Both the suckers and the pickerel have to be over 20 inches to have a good share of meat. Pike work also and when you get a 30-40 inch pike you have about 5 meals worth of food. I have multible canals where I live the weeds come all the way up to the surface. I use a zoom trick worm weedless and weightless and work it like a snake over the weeds. So much fun....

I do the same thing as tin2win. If it is a family or a guy and his kids. Even just a guy that is sick of work and just wants to fish. I put them on the fish the best I can.

Gander mountain and dicks have very good sales. Also if your patience there are deals that spring up that people here usually tell us about. I bought an avid at gander mountain for 99$ couple months ago. Reeds had a sale bought another 97$ avid. Shimano has rebate offers out now also. As for lures look in bargain bins. If you use plastics check ***.

When i'm reading these articles the web site refreshes. It is really annoying some days when I go through 10-15 articles. Some of them it isnt a problem but some are a bit longer. Is there an option somewhere where I can make it stop refreshing?
