  1. haha yeh I saw this last week. The daily newspaper had an article about it. The guy who wrote the article didn't think it was funny he said the chuck norris comments are dried up. I think its hilarious though! I think my college paper tries to find writers who have dumb opinions to start arguments >
  2. Hurts my feelings too!! Let's get em bassinajr. I am currently working on the switch to baitcasting :-/
  3. Well for my home lake Beltzville the size of the alfewife shad is about 2-3 inches. I was looking for something I could use in every lake not exactly lake specific. The depth was one of things i've been wondering about. What depth do you usually fish them in? This is for fish that arn't suspended. I saw the deep diver goes 8 feet.
  4. Can you guys reccomend a stand by size and color? Also in the modication thread it shows that many of you have grinded down the bill? Is this something I should try as a newbie to stickbaits?
  5. I was thinking about doing the same thing. You could also try putting a bucket out 5 yards and try to flip and pitch a jig into it. Try 5 yards then 10 yards so on and so forth. Good luck!
  6. Tin2Win what does 50* mean? Does this mean depth, slope or temp?
  7. I have fished for trout way before bass and I learned a ton from it. I would like to use what I learned for trout for bass with jerkbaits. With trout I always fish little stick baits rapalas like the CD-7 and Yo Zuri pins minnow. I am very good at working trout over with stick baits floating and diving. The best technique I make is very fast short snaps and makes the bait have a ton of motion but barely moving it. Will this work with the pointers for bass? I think working trout over was easier then bass will be because I can see the trout and how they react to everything. What motions do you do best on? Also can you give me any sitiuations where you would KNOW without a doubt to throw a stick bait. I know Pointers are well known and widely used, any others you can suggest?
  8. Yeh I dont understand it. There is a 12% drop yet in my mind the sport is growing under the national eye. It's on TV more then ever and it seems that the sportis gaining respect.
  9. Tin2Win Anglers 25.4 Mil. $1,357 Per Person Last 5 years 12% drop in anglers I think the Anglers 25.4 million or avg of $1357 / person is for 2006. I think from 2001-2006 there has been a 12% drop in anglers. He didn't give me any of the older spending statistics.

Even if they don't touch on junior anglers they give you a good base and a great understanding. Good luck!
  13. For collegiate bass fishing the one year they fished Lake Newton in IL. They fished it in spring the boats they trailored had like 3 inches of snow on them. These powerplant lakes are our solution for winter in the northeast! Horray! ;D
  14. This is all I use for topwaters. I use the G-Splash and Sammy... these two on braid are amazing.
  15. Thnaks, you guys are always on your game with answers!
  16. d**n that is one heck of a start! Great job!
  17. I have a question... maybe I overlooked something in this rebate. I have a $25 gift card for cabelas also a $10 coupon. Would I still be able to use this rebate and use those coupons and gift cards?
  18. The way I ice fish is I use tip ups. I drill 5 holes / person your with. I will pick the best area in which I feel will hold winter bass. I had no problem with bass inactivity. I will then organize my holes in a zig zag pattern across the lake I also try different depths to keep my line. For bait I use live shiners. I do fairly well through the ice. I never get any monsters but the lake I fish primarily Mauch Chunk Pa I pull out a few 16 inch bass in a day and a bunch of little ones. One thing that you should note is safety. I don't like to go alone. I will also sometimes drill or chop a hole 10 foot off of shore to check it. I won't go out unless there is a minimum of 5 inches. You can go out on less. They sell these things you keep around your neck it is two handles with like nails coming out of the end if you fall through you dig them in so you can get back out. Look into safety prior to going out! Good Luck!
  19. I think spanking is best if the adult comes across calm and collected. The child gets the idea that it is a form a punishment. If your an adult and you come at your child in rage and anger I dont think that spanking would be appropriate. I think the child then thinks that your hitting him and taking your aggression out which could lead to bad things.
  20. I like the Quantum Tour Edition PTS704F. They go for around $160.
  21. I read somewhere that you learn a hell of a lot more from the days you zero then the days you catch them all. When I have a rough streak I think of that statement and try to take what I learned didn't work and apply it next time. To me bass fishing is one giant long term learning experience.
  22. Muddy I personally know the DNR people in our area. Good luck half of them are a bunch of jerks....Not even remotely joking good luck...
